Organizational Context and Scope

Under the direct supervision of the Information Management Officer (CRM) for Resettlement Support Center  for the Middle East and North Africa (RSC MENA), and overall supervision of the RSC MENA Project Manager, the incumbent is responsible for  providing software quality control, quality assurance and application support for the information systems of the RSC MENA to help ensure that it conforms to organizational standards in system development and information security. Specifically, the candidate is expected to undertake the following duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  1. Gather, coordinate, and analyse business requirements with system’s stakeholders and developers.

  2. Prepare, maintain, and execute test plans, cases and scripts to be used against software platforms based on an analysis of user requirements, user stories, use cases and other technical design specification.

  3.  Draft detailed test plans  aligned with the overall Quality Assurance Strategy.

  4. Perform software system tests as required to deliver high quality products (e.g. load testing, sanity, functional, regression, integration, etc.).

  5. Implement QA process that contributes to Continuous Integration and Delivery process (e.g. Test Automation)

  6. Document results of tests performed during the testing phase of the project.

  7. Prepare test reports and documentation on the status of the testing activities to the project team and other relevant stakeholders when necessary.

  8. Monitor, track and report software defect resolution efforts in a timely manner to direct supervisor.

  9. Attempt to reproduce user issues documenting steps needed for testing purposes.

  10. Log and track defects using project-defined defect tracking tools.

  11. Supports the identification of improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the testing and support processes.

  12. Assist in developing and maintaining SharePoint lists/sites, data models, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to ensure accurate data and support informed decision-making.

  13. Supports the identification of creative solutions to complex testing issues and software support.

  14. Provide tier-1 level support to resolve information management issues liaising with the helpdesk team and/or escalating to the proper support tier for resolution when needed.

  15. Supports the confidentiality and integrity of all RSC-related information by following control procedures in line with USRAP standards of conduct and data protection rules. 

  16. Maintain and ensure confidentiality of data in accordance with IOM Data protection rules and principles as guided by the IOM standards of conduct; and

  17. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • University degree in computer science with four years of relevant experience, or 

  • School diploma with six years of relevant experience. 

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience

  • Must have experienced on test automation tool;
  • Experience working with specialized international agencies (UN Agencies, International Organisations, and International NGOs) and in complex operations, including conflict and post-conflict situations preferred.
  • Experience in creating and managing SharePoint lists, databases, dashboards, and reporting tools to support decision-making.

Skills

  • Must demonstrate a good understanding of data management concepts such as data collection, collation, and data reporting, and can cascade information to another team members.

  • Must have knowledge on project management and document management tool such as JIRA, Azure DevOps or SharePoint 

  • Have demonstrated knowledge of query generation for reporting purposes as well as Microsoft O365 products: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Must have knowledge in Microsoft Excel reporting functions.

  • Knowledge in SQL Server is an advantage

  • Knowledge on vulnerability scanning tool is an advantage.

Languages

For this position all applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
