Overview
Jhpiego seeks to recruit two recent graduates for an internship program offering practical exposure and hands-on experience in public health program implementation.
We are seeking motivated and mission-driven interns to support the Genesis project. The ideal candidates will be passionate about public health and research and will provide basic support related to program and study implementation, data and knowledge management.
Responsibilities
Specifically, the intern will be responsible for:
- Providing support in organizing and executing program and study activities that include but not limited to conducting trainings and review meetings
- Supporting the collection, validation and transmission of data and reports
- Supporting data entry, data cleaning and basic quantitative data analysis
- Supporting qualitative data processing, including transcription, coding and basic data analysis
- Assisting in drafting scientific knowledge products e.g. technical briefs, manuscripts e.t.c.
- Assisting in knowledge management that includes documentation, collation, and organization of relevant knowledge products into the relevant repositories
- Assisting in compiling program reports and documentation of best practices and lessons learnt
- Assisting in preparation of weekly and monthly work plans and reports
- Assisting with other operational or program-related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Expectations
Each intern will:
- be expected to provide a brief description of skills they will develop / enhance through their participation in the program.
- be expected to outline the expected deliverables at the end of the program.
- be assisted by their assigned supervisor to develop learning objectives based on their areas of growth, which align with the programmatic work available.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in public health, social studies, community development, or related area from a recognized institution
- Must have graduated within the last two years
- Must be a Kenyan citizen
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
