SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES GHANA is a child welfare organization that provides a stable Family-Like Care (FLC) for children in need. We also provide social services for families at risk through our Family Strengthening Projects. Currently, we operate in four locations: Tema, Asiakwa, Kumasi and Tamale with the National Office in Accra. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and dynamic persons for appointment as:
Face-to-Face Project Officer
Duty Post: Asylum Down, Accra
Position Duration: 3 years, renewable based on performance and attitude to work
Position Requirement
- Degree or equivalent qualification: Preferably in Marketing.
- A certificate in Fundraising will be an added advantage.
- 3 years of work experience in the sales of Insurance
- Positive and professional approach to work. Highly organised, able to work independently, use initiative, and keep commitments. Ability to lead and motivate others.
- Ability to attract and maintain donors and sponsors.
- Strong interest in the needs and development of children.
- Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, and Excel)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in the recruitment of committed individual donors.
- Manage the Face to Face Project (door2door/street/mall teams/) of the Association, defining, developing, and implementing strategies for its success, with the support of Corporate Fundraiser, Donor Loyalty Officer, and oversight from the Fund Development Manager;
- Manage the Facers of the Face-to-Face Project, ensuring their motivation and the execution of their primary responsibilities for the project's success. Hold regular meetings to evaluate and monitor results, set individual and team goals in line with departmental objectives, and assist in the recruitment process for these positions. Develop motivation and leadership dynamics that aim for quality work and team performance.
- Define locations in the annual and monthly Face to Face project plan; contacting local authorities for permissions and associated bureaucracy; researching new cities; analyzing strategic locations; identifying local partners for recruitment; contacting and requesting permission from shopping centers and other locations for the Face to Face project.
- Monitor daily control and analysis through street team result records; monitoring results vs. objectives; conducting regular evaluation meetings with teams: monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually; Defining bonus systems with the support of the Fund Development Manager; Timely response to low-performance situations and problem-solving to ensure established objectives are met.
- Develop motivation and leadership dynamics that aim for quality work and team; Manage conflicts and issues; Lead by example; participate in street work and recruit new "SOS Friends" (regular donors/Committed givers) for SOS Children's Villages Ghana.
- Support in managing and working with external agencies for new regular donors
