About this position

The IDB Office in Europe is looking for an active graduate student to be hired as a 2026 intern under the Consultant modality.

The COF/Offices Internship Program is a paid opportunity for university students from member countries to learn about development work and corporate management of the Bank, and to acquire work experience at the professional level through on-the-job learning.

What you’ll do

  • Carry out tasks to assist in the development of new and existing partnerships with public and private players in Europe, including risk analysis for the due diligence, developing materials for events and presentations organized by GPS/EUR and/or in which GPS/EUR participates, as well as support the preparation of events and missions, internal and external meetings, and workshops.
  • Targeting key sectors of the Bank's priority areas, perform market research, as well as collect and analyze data on partnership opportunities and promotion of philanthropy in the Bank's member countries in Europe, and possibly non-member countries.
  • Assist in identifying sources of alternative financial/non-financial resources for co-financing of IDB operations.
  • Support all types of communication activities, such as publications (printed and online) as well as with presentations, social media, internal communications, and CRM entry to maintain the intelligence for existing and potential partners up-to-date.
  • Other activities to support GPS/EUR team’s activities as agreed with the internship supervisor.

What you'll need

  • Education: An active graduate student  in Business Administration, International Relations, International Development, Finance, Public Policy, or Communications from an accredited university. The graduation date cannot be prior to the last day of the Internship.
  • Languages: Be proficient in English and preferably with a working knowledge of Spanish, one of the Bank’s additional official languages.
  • Soft Skills: Result-driven, collaborative, innovative, client-oriented, strong communicator, self-motivated, eager to learn, and excellent time management skills.
  • Technical skills:
    • Adobe Creative Suite
    • Customer Relationship Management CRM
    • MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI)

  • Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Spain or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Spain.
  • Active student: Enrolled in a graduate (master’s or Ph.D.) program as of the starting date of the internship program. The graduation date should be after the Internship period.
  • Consanguinity: Not have family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
  • First job at the IDB Group: Be a first-time participant in an Internship Program held by the Bank or Inter-American Investment Corporation (“Corporation” also known as “IDB Invest”). In addition, you have not been a former staff member, Complementary Workforce (“CW”), contractor for the Bank or the Corporation, or have previously provided services to the Bank or the Corporation through a contractor or under any other contractual modality.
