Working Student (6 Months Contract) to Support our Outreach and Communications Work
The Nuremberg Academy is seeking a working student to support our outreach and communications work related to international criminal law and human rights law projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
The working student will assist the colleagues responsible for outreach and communications. Tasks will include the following:
- Translations and proofreading of texts according to the Academy’s Style Guide
- Compilation and editing of texts and photos for various publications, e.g. Annual Reports
- Support the administration of media assets
- Support website and social media activities
- Identifying and editing content in multimedia formats for outreach purposes, e.g. quotes, video extracts from Academy events
- Researching and identifying targets and multipliers for outreach purposes
The working student can partly work remotely. Regular meetings at the Academy to discuss the work are expected. Therefore, applications from students living in the Nuremberg region will be preferred.
The amount of working hours/week will initially be 10 hours/week and might be adjusted to a higher amount of time depending on the workload.
Eligibility Criteria
- Enrollment as a regular student in a German university or university of Applied Sciences for the entire duration of the contract
- Undergraduate degree (Bachelor or comparable) preferably in communications, languages, law, international relations, social sciences or political sciences
- Interest in the area of work and activities of the Nuremberg Academy
- Excellent written and spoken professional proficiency in German and English is required (English is the working language at the Nuremberg Academy). Knowledge of other languages (especially French) would be an asset.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, communication skills, strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently; attention to detail, structure and visual requirements
- First experience in outreach and communications work would be an asset (please specify in your CV where you have acquired this knowledge)
- Good standard of computer skills (in particular Microsoft Office applications; experience in Adobe Photoshop and web content management systems (Typo3) is an asset)
- Experience in the handling of social media channels and digital formats for events are strong assets
Payment
The Academy will pay a gross remuneration of 14 € before taxes per hour.
