Job Description
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub-office and the direct supervision of the Project Officer (Resilience) in Marshall Islands and in close coordination with the Programme Officer (Disaster Risk Reduction) in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance in carrying out all warehouse functions and driving duties.
Responsibilities
Safe and Security Facilities:
Open and secure the warehouse as needed for operations, inspections or other maintenance
In coordination with the Project Officer, review, become familiar and dully comply with the safety requirements of the warehouse, including but not limited to equipment, gear, policies, etc.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
Report any issue with the facilities immediately to the Project Officer and the Head of Sub-Office.
Overall Management and Inventory Control:
In coordination with the Project Officer, lead the relocation of prepositioned items from the warehouse to designated locations in Majuro and back to the warehouse, including packing, loading and transporting IOM assets to and from the warehouse.
Assist the Project Officer in the development of the replenishment plan for the warehouse as well in the development of a inspection report.
In coordination with the Project Officer, lead the development and continued updating of the inventory for warehouse stock, including by conducting monthly inventory counts and inspections.
Unpack and arrange stock items in an organized way; update stock cards in the containers 1, 2 and 3.
Clean and organize warehouse as well as assist with disposal of waste/debris in designated waste dump.
Regular maintenance of IOM assets and pre-positioned items:
In accordance with the schedule set by the Project Officer, ensure routine maintenance and quarterly inspection of the program assets and relief supplies are completed and documented, including charging the batteries and maintenance to the generators and Reverse Osmosis units.
Assist day to day maintenance of vehicles to ensure cleanliness and worthiness which includes check of tires, brakes, engine oil, etc. as well as daily inspections and availability of jacks, spares and tools for vehicles. Refuel the vehicle as required and work closely with mission drivers to ensure this task is fulfilled
Other Duties:
Participate in emergency response and relief activities as required
Drive IOM vehicles and execute tasks assigned by supervisor (Resilience Project Officer), ensuring the safety of passengers, cargo and vehicle. In case of accident, inform direct and overall supervisors immediately; prepare incident report and obtain police report/abstract.
Travel at the request and approval of the Head of sub-Office.
Any other duties may be assigned to this position.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
University degree with one year of relevant work experience; or
High school diploma with three years with relevant work experience.
EXPERIENCE
Working experience in a warehouse
Two years’ driving experience
Experience working in an international organization, embassy or NGO is advantageous.
