Technical Lead / CTO at Authentic Memory Full-time · Munich-based preferred
Authentic Memory is a registered non-profit building open cryptographic infrastructure that allows archives and memorial institutions to prove the long-term authenticity of their digital holdings in a world where synthetic media makes it increasingly easy to fabricate or dismiss historical evidence.
We have an established network of institutional partners, including the German Federal Archives, several memorial sites, and international research institutions, with academic advisors at LMU, TUM, and Princeton. Institutional interest is strong, and the initial funding has already been secured. Additional funding, including from the German Federal Ministry of Culture and Media, is far advanced.
Our technical co-founder is stepping back due to personal reasons, and we are looking for an experienced engineer who wants to take ownership of the technical side: lead development, build a small engineering team, and be the technical voice in conversations with our partners. You inherit a solid foundation, but we are searching for someone who brings their own ideas and makes the system better than we could on our own.
We're looking for someone who is in this for the mission and ready to build it with us long-term.
