Consultancy in Philanthropic Partnerships

Short term – approx 10-20 days, to be completed before Mid June 2026

RAFT Consulting Services (RCS) is a not-for-profit entity registered in Singapore. We are a group of international and national experts working on issues of conflict sensitivity in humanitarian and development aid, conflict analysis and research, and sub-national governance and democracy. Currently we work mainly in Myanmar, but we are looking to expand our operations to other conflict affected countries.

As part of RCS strategy and in response to shifts in institutional donor funding, we are looking to diversify our funding base. A key strategic priority is to secure multi-year, unrestricted philanthropic funding to strengthen our organisational sustainability, our independence, and our capacity to innovate.

We are seeking a short term consultant (approximately 10-20 days) to work with RCS management to identify relevant philanthropists (high net worth individuals, private offices/companies, and private foundations) and prepare material and approaches for RCS to engage effectively with these potential philanthropists.

There is a maximum sum of US$10,000 available for this assignment

The Role will include the following activities:

·      Gain an understanding of RCS: it’s mission and values, and what RCS can offer.

·      Identify ways and messages in which RCS should present itself to donors

·      Develop tailored approaches and messages to cultivate individual philanthropist’s interests and commitments.

·      Based on what RCS represents and RCS programmatic pillars, prepare a   prioritised prospective pipeline of philanthropic targets which should include UK based, Europe based and US based targets and, if possible, Singapore based targets.

·      Assist in securing some introductory meetings for RCS management with key philanthropists and/or foundations.

·      Advise RCS on what materials, papers, pamphlets RCS should develop as part of our approach to Philanthropists.

·      Give introductory training to key RCS staff on how to communicate with philanthropists and how to manage the relationships

·      Based on your work and on feedback from RCS, prepare a final (brief) report detailing all the above plus contact details of philanthropic institutions/individuals applicable for RCS.

 

 Your Background

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in a marketing or a relationship management role, including successful philanthropic development, with an international scope.
  • Demonstrable pre-existing relationships with and access to key philanthropists (individuals, companies, private foundations)
  • Familiarity with British, EU and US philanthropic ecosystems
  • Fluent English speaker and writer.
