Job Overview/Summary:
The Senior Protection Officer-Child Protection will work under the supervision of the Protection Specialist – Child Protection to lead, oversee and support Child Protection Officers in delivering high-quality, child-centered case management services in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guiding principles, and minimum standards for child protection. The role involves supervising caseloads based on staff competencies, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation across all case management steps, monitoring and supporting Safe Healing and Learning Space (SHLS) activities, and providing capacity-building training for child protection staff from all locations.
The role ensures the delivery of quality, inclusive and safe participation and child protection services for children while actively engaging communities and coordinating with relevant sectors and stakeholders. Central to this role is a strong commitment to safeguarding principles, confidentiality and adherence organization’s Code of Conduct, ensuring that all activities uphold the principles of protection, inclusiveness, do no harm, and accountability to affected populations. This position is only opened for Myanmar National candidates.
Main Responsibilities
Supervision and monitoring the implementation of activities of SHLS and information dissemination activities on Child Protection in alignment with project objectives.
Develop monthly and quarterly workplans for child protection activities with field teams and regularly provide inputs and feedback for quality programming.
Support the field-based Protection Officer -CP to ensure effective internal integration and harmonized workplans across activities in collaboration with Protection Specialist – CP and sector leads.
Contribute to developing, reviewing and creating the child protection related IEC and BCC materials as required in coordination with Protection Specialist – CP.
Coordinate with relevant focal persons and participate in regular team meetings, coordination meetings and monitoring activities.
Develop capacity building plans to continuously strengthen the capacities of staff, partners, and community volunteers.
Deliver tailored training for child protection teams and non-protection sector teams together with Protection specialist-CP.
Ensure activities are inclusive, gender-sensitive, child-friendly, and accessible to children with disabilities.
Collaborate with community members, local authorities, and partner organizations to strengthen community participation in child protection activities.
Facilitate the procurement related to child protection at Yangon levels throughout the Supply chain procedures to ensure smooth and timely accomplishments as per plan.
Support case management supervisors’ and emergency protection assistnace capacity to support case workers in using CPIMS+, digital forms and workflows when documenting case management processes, from identification and registration, to assessment, case planning, referrals, tracking service provision, and case closure.
Travel to the field locations to provide technical coaching and mentoring to the team.
Liaise with field and Yangon team to facilitate different challenges faced by the team on delivering child protection programming.
Provide child protection staff, partners and community volunteers and non-protection sector teams with the tools, resources and guidance necessary to implement activities in line with humanitarian principles and relevant to their technical areas.
Work closely with the Monitoring & Evaluation, Technology, Accountability and Learning (METAL) team to develop a context-specific child protection framework and tools for quality program delivery.
Promote safeguarding, PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse), and Do-No-Harm principles in all activities, ensuring adherence to confidentiality.

Coordinate closely with child protection team members including officers, case workers, facilitators, and MEAL staff, to ensure effective implementation of activities.
Collaborate with other sector teams (WPE, Education, Health, WASH and Cash and Basic Need) to ensure integrated programming.
Work with program and operations teams (People and Culture, Finance, Supply Chain) to support timely and efficient project implementation.
External
Coordinate with partner organizations, local NGOs, and community-based groups to ensure consistent quality service delivery.
Engage with community leaders, volunteers, and beneficiaries to support child-friendly and inclusive approaches for vulnerable children.
Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including government departments and cluster/coordination mechanisms.

What should you have?
1. Education
- Bachelor’s degree on Social Science, social work and Education.
2. Experience Requirements
Ability to work and adapt in Emergency and Development context.
At least 5 years of managerial/supervisory work experience in child protection in preventing part and education programming in emergency or humanitarian contexts.
A strong understanding of Child Protection concepts, Child Protection in Huamnitarian Action including minimum standards and guiding principles for working with children.
Knowledge of child rights, child protection standards, and case management including CPIMS+.
Experience of community-based protection programming, child protection case management, positive parenting and life skills for children
Commitment to promoting the safety and well-being of children, preventing and responding to all forms of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence, and ensuring that every child grows up in a protective and supportive environment.
Adhere to the organization’s Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct, and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) standards at all times.
Understanding of local context, sensitivities, and needs pertains to child protection issues.
Having background in building community participation in emergency response with a flexible approach and the ability to adapt behavior to different situations.
