The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for Two
(2) Junior Research Assistants to join the CIP – South Asia Regional Center.

About
CSARC: The CIP – South Asia Regional Center (CSARC),
Agra, serves as a key hub for agricultural research and development focused on
potato and sweetpotato systems in South Asia. The center supports research
initiatives aimed at improving crop productivity, climate resilience, and
sustainable farming practices. It collaborates with national research
institutions, government agencies, private players and development partners to
promote innovative agricultural solutions.
About the position: The Junior Research Assistant will support research
activities conducted at CIP’s Agra office. The position will provide technical
and analytical support to field and laboratory experiments, including data
collection, sample preparation, and maintenance of research facilities. This
position will report to Research Associate - Agronomist
Key responsibilities:
·Assist in the implementation of field and
laboratory experiments, including trial setup, crop management activities, and
sample collection. Support research trials related to crop production,
post-harvest management, and quality assessment.
·Collect,
record, and maintain experimental
data and field records, ensuring accuracy and
completeness of research databases. Assist in sample preparation, processing, and
laboratory testing following research protocols.
·Support potato-related research activities
(planting, harvesting, grading, storage trials, quality evaluation) –
preferred.
·Assist in
maintaining experimental plots, research material, and laboratory equipment. Support the maintenance and proper use of farm
machinery, tools, and research equipment. Under the
supervision of Research Associate, coordinate field labours to ensure timely
and accurate execution of planting, crop management, harvesting, post-harvest
handling etc.
·Prepare work plans, oversee off-season
farm management activities, monitor quality of field operations, and maintain labours
and field records to ensure efficient trial management and compliance with
safety guidelines.
Requirements
What are we looking for?
·Bachelor’s
degree in agriculture or related fields.
·Minimum 2
years of experience in agricultural research, field trials, or laboratory work.
·Basic
experience with field experiments and agricultural research activities.
·Experience
in data entry and database management is desirable.
·Ability to
work effectively in field and laboratory environments.
·Intermediate
to Advanced English communication skills.
