The Financial Stability Board (FSB) is looking for recent graduates to join the 2026 Bank for International Settlements (BIS) cohort of Graduate Interns. This is an 11-month internship that will allow you to use the knowledge you gained during your studies in a professional environment. Purpose of the Internship Programme:
The Programme is designed to enhance your work experience. The FSB coordinates at the international level the work of national financial authorities and international standard-setting bodies and develops and promotes the implementation of effective regulatory, supervisory, and other financial sector policies in the interest of financial stability. In addition, the FSB coordinates and leverages policy research and analysis relevant to central banks, including innovation, monetary and financial stability. It also organizes and provides research into key meetings of senior officials in central banks and financial authorities.

Principal accountabilities:
- Conduct financial stability analysis, including through information collection and the creation of graphs, tables, and other data visuals (such as interactive dashboards), to assess vulnerabilities in the global financial system.
- In close collaboration with financial policy experts, contribute to the drafting of reports, preparation of meeting materials, and FSB publications.
- Support policy work and financial stability analysis by collecting, processing and conducting statistical and econometric analysis of data from a wide range of sources.
- Work with large data sets collected from central banks and other authorities, with BIS statistics, and with commercial vendor data.
- Conduct data quality control and maintain databases for internal use.
Qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field completed (e.g. Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Public Policy, etc.) in 2025 or 2026.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Data management, processing and visualization skills.
- Familiarity with various data sources would be an advantage (DataStream, Bloomberg, etc.).
- Programming skills for data analysis, visualization, and management (Python, R); familiarity with standard statistical packages (MATLAB, Stata, EViews) and/or other data management tools (SQL) - would be an advantage.
- Exposure to topics such as financial stability analysis, financial regulation and supervision, payment systems, financial innovation, crisis management and resolution, or climate-related financial risks - would be an advantage.
- Strong communication skills in English.
