The International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) is looking for recent graduates to join the 2026 Bank for International Settlements (BIS) cohort of Graduate Interns. This is an 11-month internship that will allow you to use the knowledge you gained during your studies in a professional environment. IADI is the global standard-setting body for deposit insurance systems and the principal forum where deposit insurers from around the world meet to share knowledge and expertise.

Purpose of the Internship Programme:
The programme is aimed at enriching your work experience in order to help you in your pursuit of your next step, whether to a higher educational degree or a position at another organisation.

Principal accountabilities:
Assist in conducting the IADI Annual Survey covering more than 100 deposit insurers globally and in preparing the annual IADI Global Trends Report derived from its findings.
Conduct data validation on a set of global data on deposit insurance systems and contribute to further developing IADI’s data visualisation tool.
Assist in survey design, database management and implementing IADI’s data framework policy.
Update the tableau-based IADI visualisation tool to provide expanded insights into deposit insurance systems.
Support research and analysis on deposit insurance systems by collecting, processing and conducting statistical and econometric analysis of data related to deposit insurance creating graphs and tables for use in publications and at international meetings and conferences.
Assist in building IADI’s database on bank failure management.
In close collaboration with policy experts, contribute to publications and meeting materials.
Qualifications, skills, and experience:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field completed in 2025 or 2026.
Exposure to topics such as financial stability, deposit insurance, bank resolution and crisis management.
Strong analytical skills and ability to work diligently on data issues.
Data processing and visualisation skills (experience with Tableau dashboard development would be an advantage).
Coding skills in Python and STATA to produce chart packs or modelling.
Econometric modelling – fixed effects models, hypothesis testing, regression and time series models would be an advantage.
Drafting skills in English.

The contract is for 11 months (fixed term). This is a paid internship; in addition, we offer health insurance, support with relocation, and return travel, as well as accommodation in Basel.
