The community-based paralegals, appointed as casual staff, will work closely with urbanized project staff, authorities and the ICLA team in Dhusamareeb. Their primary role is to conduct necessary HLP diligence and land verification processes, community engagement sessions on land tenure, ensure access to land documentation for urban and pre-urban displacement affected communities. The establishment of the community-based paralegals in Dhusamareeb will support the enhancement of the accountability of legal support and ensure that communities understand their rights related to housing, land and property. 
Through this work, the paralegals will contribute to a better understanding of the local protection environment and strengthen community-level resilience against forced evictions. The paralegal also will support the ICLA team through structured outreach and data collection efforts across designated working areas, helping ensure timely and informed interventions by NRC.
