Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Regional Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean, the consultant will perform the following substantive duties and responsibilities: • Support all aspects of reporting for the PCCP Project in the Caribbean The consultant will support the collection of accurate and timely seizure information from PCCP units in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago, as well as ensure accurate and timely submission of workplans to Canada and the European Union and United Nations Country Teams. • Facilitation and Delivery of Capacity Building - Plan and deliver a workshop on Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants to AIRCOP Task Force in Trinidad and Tobago from 24 – 28 August 2026. - Plan and Deliver PCCP Tea-Time Sessions for PCCP Teams in the English-Speaking Caribbean.
Qualifications/special skills
An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in the fields of law, business administration, international business, political science, international relations, human rights, or related fields, is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. 2 years of experience in the area of trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants is required. Experience with organizing capacity-building activities in gender and human rights or a directly related field is required. Experience in development of research papers on relevant gender and human rights areas and training needs assessments is desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of gender and human rights, the UNODC mandate, and the Latin American and Caribbean regions is desirable. Excellent planning and organizing skills are desirable. Work experience within the United Nations system or a similar international organization is desirable. Good command of Microsoft office tools, as well as other research and analysis methodologies and tools is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English, with excellent drafting and communication skills, is required.
