Duties and Responsibilities
The international Trade Centre is the joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, which provides technical assistance and capacity building to policymakers, the private sector and trade and investment support organisations to help them use trade as an engine for sustainable growth and employment generation. The Trade and Market Intelligence section (TMI) has developed a range of online tools for strategic and operational market research, focusing on products and markets of interest to developing countries and assessing sectoral and national trade performance and competitiveness. Trade Map (TM) is one of ITC’s flagship tools, providing comprehensive trade statistics and market analysis. TMI is currently revamping TM to improve the user experience through a modernised interface, enhanced features, and updated guidance materials. To ensure the successful launch of the new TM, TMI is seeking an intern to contribute to multimedia content creation, digital communications, and launch-related activities. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Senior Market Analyst (TMI) and the team, the intern will support the following activities: • Multimedia content creation and digital communications o Support the production of the new Trade Map promotional video o Contribute to the development of video tutorials and guided walkthroughs o Assist in the creation of social media content, including posts, visuals and short-form videos to promote Trade Map o Assist in preparing communication materials for launch and outreach activities • Launch Event Support o Support the preparation and delivery of the Trade Map launch webinar o Assist in organising and coordinating online events related to the launch ITC champions workforce diversity, inclusion, gender equality and gender parity and considers all qualified persons - of all genders - equally, including those with disabilities, without discrimination or prejudice of any kind.
Qualifications/special skills
At the time of application, applicants shall meet one of the following requirements: a) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent) b) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation. Preferred fields of study: communications, media, marketing, or other related fields. Candidates from non-communications backgrounds are encouraged to apply if they demonstrate strong experience in multimedia content creation, particularly video production and editing. • Proven experience in video production and editing. • Experience creating short-form video content (e.g. reels, tutorials, promotional clips). • Experience in social media content creation is an asset. • Strong interest in digital communications and storytelling. • Ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging visual content. • Experience supporting online events or webinars is an asset. Skills: • Strong communication and organisational skills. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment. • Creativity and attention to detail.
Languages
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
