Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
The position of Operations Assistant is assigned to the Bangladesh Resident Mission (BRM) within the South Asia Department (SARD). You will be based at our Resident Mission Office in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
You will report to designated international staff and/or officer.
Your Role
The Operations Assistant provides full range of operational support, including managing records, preparing correspondence and reports, assisting ADB missions and other appropriate functions, and other administrative tasks in general. It also involves assisting technical training and institutional capacity-building programs at Capacity Development and Resources Center (CDRC) at BRM.
You will:
- Ensure accurate preparation, formatting, and submission of correspondence and documents for supervisors, in compliance with ADB standards, while maintaining proper filing and internal circulation
- Coordinate supervisors' schedules by maintaining their diaries and arranging appointments, meetings, travel and accommodation following ADB procedures.
- Arrange meetings/appointments with Government of Bangladesh, Economic Relations Division (ERD), executing agencies, donors, national training institutes, and other stakeholders, including fixing/organizing seminars, workshops, press conferences etc.
- Help prepare briefing papers for senior management, presentation materials for senior officials' meetings including fixing/organizing seminars, workshops, press conferences etc.
- Support the design, planning, and implementation of CDRC training programs, knowledge events, annual capacity development calendars, thematic learning modules, and institutional capacity-building programs aligned with CDRC priorities.
- Help prepare technical assistance (TA) implementation documents, including concept notes, activity designs, back-to-office reports (BTORs), aide-memoires, monitoring and progress reports, and knowledge products.
- Help monitor TA activities, maintain output-tracking tools, and prepare analytical summaries on training performance, participation, and institutional outcomes.
- Assist in cross-government capacity-building programs, including sector-focused competency development, public sector management training, project readiness programs, and performance-based learning initiatives.
- Help organize knowledge-sharing platforms such as communities of practice, learning forums, brown-bag sessions, and government-ADB learning exchanges.
- Provide end-to-end logistical and administrative support for workshops, seminars, missions, and learning events.· Support consultant recruitment processes, including preparation of documentation, onboarding, and mobilization.
- Maintain CDRC databases, digital archives, and capacity development dashboards.
- Perform other responsibilities as reflected in your work plan or as assigned by supervisors, including filling in for other operations assistants when unavailable.
Qualifications
You will need:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience preferably in an international organization.
- Demonstrated experience supporting training programs, institutional strengthening programs, or large-scale learning events.
- Strong coordination skills with experience working with government agencies, training institutes, and development partners.
- Good knowledge and skills of commonly used application software including Microsoft Copilot (document preparation, spreadsheets and graphics, presentation applications and search engines).
- Good knowledge of processing and project administration activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is required.

Additional Information
This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
This opening is a local staff position. It is open only to nationals and permanent residents of Bangladesh.
This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew, initially for a period of up to 3 years, or up to the Normal Retirement Date (NRD), whichever comes earlier, for the purpose(s) and conditions determined by ADB, in accordance with Administrative Order No. 2.01 (Recruitment and Appointment). After the initial fixed-term period, ADB may choose to renew the appointment for up to an additional 3 years or not renewed. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB, based on factors including but not limited to the requirement of Staff's particular blend of skills and experience for the medium-term work program of the organizational unit, sufficient funding to cover the renewed period, and Staff's performance and suitability for employment. There is no limit to the number of renewals up to NRD. However, this appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.
