Overview of positionReporting to the Deputy Country Manager, the Field Security & Logistics Officer is responsible for ensuring duty of care, security risk management, and logistics management for CTG personnel and operations in South Sudan.
Role objectivesA. Field Security (70%)

Deliver induction and periodic security awareness briefings for staff, ensuring new joiners are briefed within 48 hours.

Conduct background checks for national personnel as required.

Provide security-related guidance and incident support to staff and consultants.

Monitor and analyse the security environment and provide monthly country-wide security assessments.

Maintain active networks with UNDSS, UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs, and law enforcement actors operating in South Sudan.

Maintain and regularly update security contact databases, emergency call trees, and communication channels (WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram).

Deploy to field locations for reconnaissance, when required.

Respond to emergencies, support incident management, and complete investigation and after-action reports.

Review trip reports and ensure risk mitigation measures are followed.

Prepare weekly activity reports for the Deputy Country Manager summarising support requests, incidents, and key activities.

Contribute to the development, review, and operationalization of security SOPs and country security plans.
Perform additional security-related duties as assigned.
B. Logistics & Administration (30%)

Manage all office purchases, assets (vehicles, ICT, furniture), and consumables; maintain registers and monitor condition, usage, and stock levels.

Oversee fleet operations: track vehicles, maintenance, insurance, and coordinate with drivers and service providers.

Ensure uninterrupted utilities and coordinate office/facility maintenance, repairs, and vendor services.

Support procurement activities, including vendor coordination and basic market research.

Prepare reports on assets, purchases, stocks, and facilities; ensure compliance with CTG policies.

Maintain proper documentation for audits, internal reviews, and record-keeping.
This position reports to the Deputy Country Manager
Key competencies-
Education: University degree in International Relations, Humanitarian Affairs, Social sciences or related field (Master’s preferred).

Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in security management, with a proven track record in working with field operations. Experience in disciplinary case management, compliance, employee relations is a plus.

Familiarity with South Sudan labour regulations, administrative procedures, and local security dynamics. Experience working with humanitarian operations, security coordination platforms, or international agencies is an asset.

Languages: Fluent in English and in local languages.

Strong communication, investigation, and documentation skills.

Experience using digital reporting or tracking systems (HRIS, DMS, incident platforms).

Remains calm under pressure and responsive during incidents

Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively

Ethical, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information.
Field travel within South Sudan may be required based on operational needs.
This role has no team management requirements
