Major Responsibilities:

1. Capacity Building and Technical Support

  • Support the Senior Protection Specialist – Inclusion and Capacity Building in designing and delivering capacity-building initiatives for protection staff and partner organizations.

  • Conduct training, mentoring, and on-the-job coaching on human rights, protection, protection mainstreaming across projects and sectors, and integration with Shelter/NFI interventions.

  • Strengthen and monitor partners’ technical understanding of protection mainstreaming across response activities.

  • Contribute to the development of training materials, SOPs, and guidance tools including documentation of technical resources for the team.

  • Coordinate and Support the provision and development of IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials for field protection programming.

2. Shelter/NFI Technical Guidance

  • Provide technical support and guidance to Senior Protection Managers/Protection Managers on Shelter and NFI programming.

  • Ensure Shelter/NFI interventions are aligned with protection principles (Do No Harm, safety, dignity, and accessibility), Cluster’s guidance and IRC’s principles.

  • Support field teams in needs assessment, targeting, and beneficiary selection processes.

  • Monitor implementation quality, documentation and provide recommendations for improvement.

3. Procurement and Supply Chain Coordination

  • Support the procurement plan, procurement process for Shelter/NFI items in coordination with the Supply Chain department.

  • Ensure technical specifications, BOQs, and procurement documentation meet programmatic and compliance standards.

  • Participate in bid evaluations and provide technical input as required.

  • Track procurement progress and flag delays or risks and ensure the field teams are communicated and provided with up-to-date findings.

4. Contract Management Support

  • Support the amendment and management of Master Purchase Agreements (MPAs) for Shelter/NFI items.

  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure timely updates, compliance, and documentation of contracts.

  • Maintain proper records of procurement and contract processes.

5. Coordination and Reporting

  • Coordinate closely with program and operations teams to ensure integrated response delivery.

  • Contribute to internal and donor reporting on Shelter/NFI and capacity-building activities.

  • Document lessons learned, best practices, and challenges to inform program improvements.

6. Other Duties

  • Undertake frequent field visits to project locations, including hard-to-reach and conflict-affected areas, as required.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Protection Specialist – Inclusion and CB and Protection Coordinator to support program implementation and organisational priorities.

  • Deploy to cover the gaps of any field locations temporarily for the regular continuation of programming including support in ongoing emergencies
