About the role:
We are looking for a Communications & Visibility Officer to support the implementation of communication and visibility activities across our programmes in Ukraine.
In this role, you will help ensure that CBM’s work is effectively communicated and visible, in line with donor requirements (including EU ECHO), while contributing to storytelling, content development, and stakeholder engagement.
This position is only filled locally. With contractual conditions of the respective country. An expatriation is not intended.

You Will
Communication Planning & Compliance
- Support the development and implementation of the country programme’s communication and visibility plan in line with CBM and donor requirements (including EU ECHO)
- Ensure all communication and visibility actions comply with EU ECHO guidelines (logos, disclaimers, funding acknowledgement)
- Contribute to communication approaches tailored to different stakeholder groups
Content Development & Storytelling
- Draft and edit communication materials such as briefing notes, situation updates, reports, and other internal and external content
- Develop and share content across CBM communication channels (website, social media, newsletters)
- Collect and develop human-interest stories, case studies, and testimonies, ensuring ethical storytelling and informed consent
- Capture and produce photo and video content, including basic filming and editing, in line with donor requirements
Visibility & Outreach
- Support the planning and implementation of visibility activities (events, campaigns, field visits, media engagement), primarily from Kyiv
- Assist in organising trainings, workshops, and outreach activities
- Contribute to communication and promotional activities across projects
Coordination & Partner Support
- Work with implementing partners to ensure appropriate visibility of EU funding at project sites
- Provide basic guidance and support to partners on EU ECHO communication and visibility standards
Monitoring, Reporting & Knowledge Management
- Monitor and document communication and visibility activities, ensuring proper archiving
- Support reporting requirements related to communication and visibility
- Collaborate with MEAL teams to develop communication products that support learning and accountability
These are your qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, media studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong practical skills in content creation, including writing, photography, and basic video production/editing
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) and/or similar tools (e.g. Canva)
- A good eye for visual storytelling, including composition and lighting
- Familiarity with communication strategies, branding, and visibility guidelines
- Experience in using social media platforms and digital communication tools
- Ability to draft clear, engaging content for different audiences
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly for compliance and reporting
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Professional proficiency in Ukrainian; English is an asset
- Experience with EU or other institutional donor-funded projects is an advantage
- Identification with the Christian values and mandate of CBM.
