DRC’s Commercial Contracts team provides expert oversight and hands‑on support to country offices in bidding for, managing and implementing commercial contracts. The team actively scans for new opportunities, supports bidding and delivery processes, and ensures compliance and quality across the portfolio. This work is essential for generating unrestricted funding that fuels innovation and long‑term investment in DRC’s humanitarian mission.
About the job
As our current Tender Advisor is leaving The Commercial Contracts team is looking for a new colleague to coordinate and support business development, including proposals. We are offering a unique opportunity to play a central role in shaping DRC’s commercial portfolio and support the organization in developing its capacity to work with commercial contracts.
Your daily tasks will be:
- Support our Business Development Advisors in identifying, assessing, and pursuing new commercial contract opportunities.
- Support country operations in the development and submission of proposals including in identifying and negotiating with potential partners
- Set up and maintain systems, tools, and workflows that strengthen DRC’s ability to position and bid effectively i.e. managing project references, capacity statements, CVs, and key account information in close collaboration with relevant colleagues
- Ensure internal coordination and information flow across HQ and country offices.
- At times, lead and coordinate proposal development processes, ensuring alignment with DRC’s standards, and donor requirements.
- Facilitate internal reviews and quality assurance to ensure strong, compliant proposals.
- Provide training and support to DRC staff on commercial contract processes
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of relevant Operations Framework sections on commercial contracting.

About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have relevant experience in business development and contract management from private or NGO sector and that you can use your structured and analytical approach in combination with your experience to enhance the current business development (including proposal development) setup in our commercial contract team.

- Have a relevant master’s degree in international development, business development, economics or similar
- Strong understanding of commercial contracting processes.
- Ability to manage complex coordination processes and multi-stakeholder relationships.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and commitment to DRC’s values and mission.
Desirable
- International experience
- Knowledge of French or Spanish
