The “CCAC Strategy Support Consultant” will strengthen the CCAC Secretariat’s partnerships and external engagement by providing: (a) strategic guidance on partnership development and positioning; (b) targeted advice and support on priority partners, including tailored engagement strategies; and (c) high-quality materials and products to support engagement, alignment of external actors, and mobilisation of support for CCAC priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

The UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of the private sector, the environmental community, and other members of civil society.   The CCAC is the only international initiative working on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming. It focuses on fast action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) including methane, black carbon, HFCs and tropospheric ozone. More information about the Global Methane Pledge is here: www.globalmethanepledge.org  The CCAC Secretariat is seeking a Strategy and Partnerships Consultant to support the advancement of the CCAC 2030 Strategy, with a focus on strengthening strategic partnerships, external engagement, and aligning support to accelerate country-level implementation. Objectives: 1 - Strengthen CCAC’s strategic positioning with key external partners to support delivery of the CCAC 2030 Strategy 2 - Identify and develop engagement strategies for priority partners aligned with CCAC country and sector priorities 3 - Support the alignment of external actors and resources around high-impact CCAC initiatives and country-level interventions 4 - Contribute to the development of clear and compelling strategic materials and narratives to support senior engagement 5 - Provide targeted advice to the Secretariat on partnership opportunities, risks, and approaches 6 - Support selected high-priority engagements and processes, as agreed with the Secretariat

Qualifications/special skills

- Advanced university degree, master or equivalent, in development studies, international relations (including regional focus), or climate change and/or air pollution policy. - A minimum of 5 years of professional experience working in a field relevant to climate change, air pollution, sustainable development, environment, and energy is required. - Experience in partnership strategies, particularly with private sector and/or philanthropies is required. - Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups is required is desirable.

Languages

- Fluency in English (written and oral) is required. Additional knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset.
