JOB TITLE: Senior SAP Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Specialist

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.
The Technology Division of WFP partners with units across the organization to digitally transform WFP. We design, develop, enhance and maintain a variety of digital products. The Digital Solutions Delivery Branch (TECD) oversees solution delivery activities, covering both the introduction of new products as well as the evolution of existing ones.
The organization is executing a major modernization of its data ecosystem, cantered on the conversion from SAP ECC to S/4HANA, the migration of SAP BW to SAP Datasphere, and the optimization of SAP Business Objects (BO) and Tableau.
Under the direct supervision of the Head of ERP Platforms, TECD, the Consultant will be
accountable for ensuring the overall integrity and coherence of the BI landscape throughout the S/4HANA conversion, providing senior technical oversight and guiding the future direction of the business intelligence and analytics environments.
Beyond supporting the SAP transition, the role also contributes to the system realignment required for the Strategic Plan and Corporate Results Framework—an initiative with an exceptionally tight timeline to enable all Country Offices to operate fully under the new framework by 1 July 2026.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead impact assessment and ensure technical integrity of the BI landscape throughout the S/4HANA conversion, establishing standards, architecture, and criteria for solution validation.
- Oversee the S/4HANA data model, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and identifying opportunities enabled by the new technology stack.
- Define and drive the SAP Data Cleansing Roadmap to ensure data quality and readiness across the landscape.
- Coordinate BI impacts across platforms (SAP Datasphere, BO, Tableau) to ensure continuity of analytics and business operations.
- Enable analytics and operational tools (including COMET, SPRING, SAP, DOTS, etc.) with the requirements of the new Strategic Plan and Corporate Results Framework (CRF).
- Validate external supplier deliverables, maintaining structured oversight, quality assessments, and adherence to the future-state BI architecture.
- Approve SAP Datasphere data models and ensure architectural consistency for enterprise reporting.
- Update and optimize BO Universes and report in line with the new SAP landscape.
- Refresh and validate Tableau dashboards and data sources to ensure accuracy, usability, and insight continuity.
- Provide regular progress updates, risk assessments, and supplier performance reports to support transparent governance and timely decision‑making.
- Produce technical documentation and knowledge‑transfer materials to support long‑term system sustainability.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: University degree in business administration, information technology, or other related fields.
Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in IT services/solutions, with a strong background in data analytics and business intelligence.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong expertise in data analysis and performance monitoring, including SQL, KPIs, scenario analysis, cross-system reconciliation, and data validation.
- Specialized expertise in the analysis, solution design, and validation of BI and Analytics solutions, including assessment of the impact of ERP data changes on reporting and data integration.
- Solid knowledge of SAP BW, SAP Datasphere, and SAP data modeling.
- Understanding of SAP ECC 6.x and S/4HANA data structures, data replication, and CDS views.
- Proficiency in SAP data and reporting platforms, including SAP BW/BI, SAP HANA, SAP BusinessObjects (WebI), BEx Analyzer, Query Designer, and SAP Datasphere.
- Experience with data visualization and analytics tools, including Tableau and Palantir Foundry (DOTS).
- Familiarity with project and delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, Asana, and Daptiv; experience working within Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to manage and integrate data from multiple systems and platforms.
- Proven experience in complex transformation programs, particularly those involving large-scale system or analytics redesign.
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective, scalable BI solutions, in alignment with enterprise architecture and data strategy.
- Experience coordinating and overseeing implementation partners to ensure quality, technical accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Desirable: The following points are considered a plus for a candidate:
- Previous experience working within the UN system, particularly on WFP Organization.
- Knowledge of WFP processes, systems, and current and WFP Data analytics report context.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable.
