OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The mission of WHO's Health Emergencies Programme is to help countries, and to coordinator international action, to prevent, prepare for, detect, rapidly respond to, and recover from outbreaks and emergencies.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The incumbent will perform the following duties:1- Monitor local NGO partners through quarterly coordination forums and monthly technical meetings with a view to improving the information sharing.2- Report on implementation and identify lessons learned that will result in effective planning.3- Coordinate the screening ofpotential partner organizations and develop an NGO Indicator Framework.4- Evaluate the quality of work of partner organizations through the use of newly developed M&E tools, regular meetings, and telephone follow-ups.5- Conduct the Organizational Capacity Assessment of partner organizations.6- Provide regular briefings on Project Cycle Management, monitoring and evaluation, fund raising …etc with key members of partner organizations.7- Collect and assess technical reports from the field.8- Prepare monthly reports on NGOs' activities for the Technical Officer (M&E).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: University degree in Social Sciences or related field.
Desirable: Master's degree in Social Sciences or Business Administration

Experience

Essential: At least one year relevant experience in the area of partnership development and project management.Experience in developing countries
Desirable: Experience in UN organizations/agencies, International institutions or NGOs.

Skills

Demonstrated knowledge of dealing with local partners and NGOs. Excellent skills in the assessment, monitoring, analysis and evaluation of emergency health situations. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure. Proven ability to communicate effectively. Tact, discretion and ability to promote consensus. Excellent Presentation Skills

REMUNERATION

Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 34,827 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
