We are seeking a Head of Legal & Privacy to lead our legal department. This is more than a legal role; you will be a strategic partner ensuring our mission is protected while managing the complexities of our international growth.
What You Will Do
- Strategic Leadership: Manage the daily operations of the legal department and offer strategic guidance to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Document Oversight: Lead the team in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal documents, ensuring high-quality standards and timely completion.
- Policy Development: Establish and oversee legal policies and procedures to optimize workflows and maintain organizational integrity.
- Risk Management: Keep the organization informed of legal and regulatory changes, implementing proactive measures to mitigate potential risks.
- Mentorship & Training: Mentor legal team members and facilitate training sessions for staff and volunteers to foster a culture of legal awareness.
Skills and Competencies
- A law degree in Spain from an accredited law school.
- Proven experience leading legal operations, including team management and strategic oversight. Experience in startups is considered a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a collaborative, remote team.
- Native-level Spanish and fluency in English (written and spoken) are essential, as English is our primary language.
This is a remote, volunteer (unpaid) position requiring approximately 5-8 hours per week. We are specifically seeking candidates located within the GMT to GMT +4 time zones.
