Background Information
Responsibilities
Working under the overall direction of the Chief of Mission in Doha, Qatar and the direct supervision of the Migration Management Officer, the intern will assist with the operational activities of the Mission within the Migration Unit.
The intern will assist within the Migration Management Unit as follows:
Assist with preparing visibility materials on migration in both English and Arabic;
Assist with preparing communication materials including content creation for brochures and PowerPoints in both English and Arabic;
Assist in the organization of workshops, meetings, and conference including taking minutes of meetings, drafting meeting reports, and preparing for meeting logistics;
Contribute to the expansion of IOM activities in the country including through the identification of project opportunities and project ideas on migration management;
Interact with IOM partners on relevant activities;
Assist with enhancing the social media presence of IOM Qatar including through the creation of social media content;
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
Be enrolled in the final academic year of Bachelor’s / Master`s level or equivalent.
be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
or have graduated with a university degree (not later than 1 year ago).
Experience and Skills
Technical mastery of the following software programs: MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint;
Excellent Communication skills;
Ability to handle routine and repetitive tasks;
Good organisational skills;
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure;
Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues within a team from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
Languages
For this internship, Fluency (both oral and written) in English and Arabic are required.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
