Job Description

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Honduras supports the Government of Honduras and national partners in addressing diverse migrations dynamics, including large‑scale return movements from North America, migration in transit, internally displaced persons due to violence or climate-related shocks, and a broad set of protection and humanitarian needs. The Country Office implements programmes in migration governance, humanitarian assistance, protection, emergency preparedness and response, community stabilization, labour migration programming, and security‑related initiatives including IBG.

Given the growing volume and complexity of mobility through Honduras—particularly in border departments such as Choluteca, El Paraíso and Ocotepeque, as well as reception of returnees in San Pedro Sula and Omoa—there is a continuing need for strong information management systems and high quality analytical products. These data are critical to support evidence based decision making and coordinated responses by national institutions and international partners. IOM Honduras works closely with the National Migration Institute (INM), the Permanent Contingency Commission (COPECO), the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation SENAF, municipal authorities, UN agencies, and civil society organizations to strengthen data systems and improve operational and strategic planning.

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Honduras and the direct supervision of the Programme Support Officer, the Senior Data and Information Management Associate  (DTM) will support the development, implementation, and improvement of information management tools and data processes across the Country Office. The Senior Data and Information Management Associate  (DTM) will contribute to data collection, processing, analysis, visualization, and dissemination efforts, helping ensure that programme teams have access to timely, accurate and actionable data.

The Senior Data and Information Management Associate  (DTM)  will work closely with the PSU team, programme units, regional information management counterparts, and national actors to enhance data quality, harmonize methodologies with IOM regional and global frameworks, and support innovation in data production and use. The position will also reinforce interagency coordination on data, contribute to capacity building for government institutions, and help strengthen the evidence base on migration dynamics in Honduras.

3. Develop and review data collection tools, produce data visualization products (including dashboards, maps, infographics, and analytical summaries), and contribute to analytical briefs, situation updates, donor reports, and internal summaries in alignment  with protection standards and IOM frameworks;  effectively communicate datadriven evidence to internal and external stakeholders.

4. Assist programme teams and PSU team in integrating data into planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting,  supporting the harmonization of indicators and data collection processes  with donor and organizational requirements.

5. Support capacity building activities for government counterparts (e.g., INM, COPECO, SENAF, municipal authorities) and IOM field teams on data collection, information management, and the responsible use of sensitive data.

6. Conduct regular data quality checks to  verify accuracy, consistency, and completeness across datasets from various programmatic areas.

7. Support interagency coordination efforts by contributing to information products, data sharing mechanisms, and joint analysis initiatives within relevant UN and humanitarian coordination platforms.

8. Perform any other duties as may be assigned, in support of information management and data analysis needs across the Country Office.
