What we are looking for

NRC is looking for a Grand Bargain Senior Adviser to join the organisation. The role holder will be responsible for producing and developing high quality concept notes, developing strategies and plans, enhancing and strengthening strategic communication and outreach, and building links with outside processes and stakeholders. The Grand Bargain Senior Adviser will act as the main contact point for the Grand Bargain Facilitation Group Sherpas and will oversee and support Secretariat processes.

What you will do

  • Strategy development and implementation.
  • Communication strategies and outreach efforts oversight.
  • Strategic communication and engagement with non-signatories and external stakeholders.
  • Consultants and external support oversight.
  • Planning and organising meetings.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and assessment leadership and oversight.
  • Facilitation Group Sherpas main point of contact.
  • Reports, concept notes, option papers, briefing notes, and other materials development.

What you will bring

  • Master’s degree.
  • Professional experience, in the humanitarian sector.
  • Grand Bargain and global humanitarian policy proficiency.
  • High quality products (quality concept notes, key messages, etc.) development expertise.
  • Governments, international non-governmental organisations, the United Nations and/or the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement exposure.
  • Coordination, at global policy level, exposure.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

  • The Grand Bargain is a unique forum bringing together donors and aid organisations to drive progress on a common vision of maximising the impact of humanitarian work. The process is supported by a light Secretariat, responsible for overall coordination and communication in the process, and for providing specific support to the governance bodies, namely the Grand Bargain Ambassadors and the Facilitation Group. 
  • The Secretariat is hosted by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in the Humanitarian Hub in Geneva.

What we offer
