The WBG Gender Department leads efforts to accelerate gender equality through analytics, operational support, and innovation. Within the Department, the Results & Innovation Team strengthens data-driven decision-making for design and implementation of policies and operations, and monitoring and reporting of gender outcomes, across sectors and regions. The team supports implementation of the Gender Strategy (2024–2030) and Targets, IDA21 Gender Policy commitment, the Gender Equality Scorecard, and gender portfolio indicators. This work requires high-quality data management, rigorous validation, and development of innovative tools, including AI-enabled solutions. The ETC will support these efforts under Senior Operations officers, working closely with the Outcomes Department, OPCS, ITS, CMUs, and regional teams. This support is made all the more pressing as the Outcomes department has downsized its gender team, shifting more responsibilities to our department.
Duties and Accountabilities
•Collect, clean, classify, and validate data for Gender Strategy indicators, IDA21 commitments, Gender Scorecard metrics, and gender portfolio indicators.
•Support development and refinement of dashboards for CMUs and Regions using Power BI and other tools.
•Support integration of gender indicators into AIMM Navigation and operational data systems, ensuring gender indicators are embedded in private sector measurement processes.
•Conduct deep-dive analyses and contribute to outcome monitoring.
•Contribute to development of Gender Intelligence AI tool.
•Help to integrate and align processes and application of methodologies across World Bank and IFC results data.
•Develop guidance notes, methodological approaches, and tools to support consistent and high-quality measurement of gender outcomes across portfolios. Produce analytical briefs summarizing gender indicator trends.
•Contribute to methodological and technical documentation (data dictionaries, validation notes).
Selection Criteria
•Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, or related field (or Bachelor's + 5 years experience).
•Strong proficiency in statistics software (such as Python, R, SQL, PowerQuery, or Stata) and advanced Excel.
•Experience developing dashboards (Power BI preferred).
•Demonstrated ability to analyze and validate large, multi-source datasets.
•Detail-oriented, collaborative, proactive, and solution-focused.
•Ability to think and communicate clearly.
•Familiarity with WBG operations (particularly process and systems), gender analysis, or Scorecard reporting is an advantage.
•Proactive and solution oriented, with strong problem solving skills.
•Excellent organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple deliverables across reporting cycles.
•Ability to use strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to cultivate effective, productive client relationships and partnerships and generate excitement around data
