Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Programme Manage in Tel Afar, Ninewa.
Overall purpose of the role: This role is conditional pending confirmation of funding. The Project Coordinator provides administrative, logistical, and coordination support to ensure the effective implementation of a project aiming to strengthen SMEs in the agriculture sector in the Kurdistan Region. The role focuses on facilitating project delivery by supporting experts, trainers, coaches, and Business Development Service (BDS) providers in the implementation of the SME Loop.
Working closely with the Project Team Leader, Key Experts, and relevant stakeholders, the Project Coordinator contributes to implementation planning, ToT logistics, financial and administrative processes, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring systems. The role also supports the development of communication and visibility materials, as well as knowledge management and documentation, ensuring that project activities are well-coordinated, contextually appropriate, and effectively delivered.
Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative and financial support to experts and local Business Development Service (BDS) providers, including maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and supporting financial reporting.
- Supports trainers, coaches, and the project team in the development and coordination of the SME Loop implementation plan, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Prepares and coordinates logistical and administrative arrangements for Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions, including preparation of materials and support to methodologies.
- Provides contextual advisory support to the Team Leader and Key Experts on local dynamics, including engagement with rural authorities and relevant stakeholders.
- Supports the development of communication and visibility materials in line with project requirements and donor guidelines.
- Assists the Team Leader and Key Experts in the review and selection of appropriate SME Loop modules tailored to different enterprise profiles.
- Supports the establishment and operationalization of a standardized monitoring system for SME performance and development, in coordination with the Team Leader and BDS providers.
- Support the team leader/ BDS provider in the setup of the standard system for monitoring SME performance and development during the implementation of the SME Loop and provide a mechanism for knowledge management.
Experience and technical competencies:
Key requirements include:
- 5 years of professional experience in organizing and preparing project activities.
- 3 years of professional experience in the promotion of SME
- 6 years of professional experience in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
- 3 years of professional experience in development cooperation projects.
Education: University degree in Business Administration, Economics or Agronomy
Languages:
- C1 level language proficiency in English in the Common European Framework of reference for language.
- C1 level in Kurdish language
- Arabic highly desirable
