CURRENT OPPORTUNITY 

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to work with us in the GGGI Indonesia Country Program’s Land and Sea Team. The intern will be responsible for providing operational and administrative assistance for the Party and Non-Party Stakeholders’ Capacity and Contribution to Accelerate the NDC Implementation (ID055 Project), funded by the NDC Partnership and working closely with the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia to ensure prompt, responsive, accountable, and high-quality program delivery under these Plans. 

OBJECTIVES 

Under the supervision of the Sr. Officer, Blue Economy and working closely with Associate, Land and Sea, The Intern will assist in all of the administrative aspects in the event preparation and event implementation including budgeting, financial reporting, writing minutes of the meeting, translation and helping consultants with their administration. The intern is also encouraged to learn about NDC to provide assistance related to the content of the work. 

PURPOSE 

The Intern will assist in a wide range of administrative tasks and will be involved in the technical preparation of the ongoing work in the ID055 Project workstreams of GGGI. The intern will gain hands-on experience and training in many aspects of both administration, budgeting and management, while also gaining a good understanding of an inter-governmental organization as well as valuable exposure to NDC, green growth development, and climate change issue. 

  • Support program activities with preparation for, or processing of, meetings or workshops including budgeting and financial reporting of the events. 

  • Support for the preparation of the events and meetings of the ID055 Project activities including confirming the participants, place, ToR and agenda preparation. 

  • Assist with events and meetings of the ID055 Project activities including note-taking, documentation, attendance list and settlement. 

  • Support Land and Sea Team and consultants on the procedures, policies and tools of travel, workshops and other administrative arrangements 

  • Carry out any other activities as may be directed by the supervisor. 

  • Provides general support to the project activities where necessary 

  • Any other support as needed in support of the Land and Sea Team 

  • Commit to working full-time (40 hours per week) from 1 May 2026 to 31 October 2026. 

ELIGIBILITY 

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application comply with all the following requirements: 

  • Be in the final year of a Bachelor’s program, OR be enrolled in a Master's program, OR be a recent graduate (Bachelor or Master) within the last 12 months. 

  • Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to GGGI’s work 

  • Possesses an excellent command of English and is able to produce written material. 

  

QUALIFICATION 

  • A bachelor’s degree in international relations, public relations, communications, political science, or other related studies 

  • Having a minimum of 3 months of work experience would be desirable  

  • Strong oral and written English, and fluency in Indonesian is essential 

  • A pro-active attitude, with an ability to innovate in finding solutions 

  • Highly organized with an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams 

  • Good level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) 

  • Strong oral and written English, and fluency in Indonesian is essential 

  • Experience/knowledge of forestry and climate change issues (land-based mitigation) is an asset 

SELECTION PROCESS

  • GGGI evaluates applications based on: eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and work experience (if any); and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION 

Duration: The internship program is for six months. Once selected, interns must begin the internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.  

Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD $500. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns themselves or sponsoring institutions. 

Travel: This position is based at GGGI Indonesia’s Jakarta Office. The intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location. 

Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract. 

Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information. 

Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships. 

Working Hours: Intern are expected to work full-time (40 hours per week) during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly. 

Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern. 

Certificate: provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
