The International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), a member of the World Bank Group, is the global leader in international investment dispute settlement. Its mandate is to foster increased flows of international investment by providing an impartial and effective international forum for the resolution of disputes between host governments and foreign investors. ICSID is looking for an Extended-Term Temporary to join its Administration and Finance Team. The individual will support day-to-day administrative finance processes related to ICSID cases, including arbitrator payments, refunds in concluded cases and other financial processes. The position is practical and execution-focused, requiring strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage multiple systems and processes in a busy environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Triage high volumes of incoming emails related to ICSID case finances and support effective routing, tracking and follow up of requests. 

• Review arbitrator fee and expense claims and other payment requests to ensure information is complete, properly documented and ready for processing. 

• Assist with processing refunds in concluded cases, including reviewing requests, verifying supporting documentation and supporting transaction follow through.
 
• Prepare, track, and follow up on purchase order requests in coordination with Secretariat legal and events teams, corporate procurement and vendors. 

• Monitor outstanding commitments and follow up on missing, delayed or incorrect invoices with procurement and vendors. 

• Work with the Secretariat events team to ensure hearing  and meeting related costs, including interpretation and related services, are properly captured and covered by purchase orders. 

• Record and monitor interpretation and related service costs and follow up on missing or incomplete entries. 

• Retrieve and review financial and operational information from SAP or similar systems to support day to day processing, tracking and follow up. 

• Maintain and update finance templates, trackers and standard documentation used by the Finance Team. 

• Support improvements to finance workflows and tools by helping document processes, identify bottlenecks and reduce manual steps in routine tasks. 

• Assist with testing and rollout of improved finance tools or process changes in coordination with finance colleagues and ITS, as needed. 

• Contribute to ongoing process improvements within the finance function of the Administration and Finance Team. 

• Perform other assigned duties in support of ICSID administrative and financial operations.


Selection Criteria

Attention: Preference will be given to local talent, that is, applicants who are authorized to work in the duty station for any employer. Internal applicants may apply per existing guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. 

• 3–5 years of experience in operational, administrative, or finance related support roles, preferably in an institutional or structured environment. 

• Experience working with enterprise systems or administrative platforms (e.g., SAP or similar systems).
 
• Demonstrated ability to handle high volumes of operational or transactional requests with accuracy and attention to detail. 

• Experience supporting operational workflows, including tracking, documentation and follow up across multiple teams.
 
• Ability to identify inefficiencies in routine processes and support practical improvements. 

• Experience supporting testing or implementation of updated tools, templates, or procedures is an asset.
 
• Strong Excel and data handling skills for tracking transactions, issues and follow ups. 

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment. 

• Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with finance, procurement, IT and operational teams. 

• Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive or confidential information.
