Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office (HoO) in Vilnius and direct supervision of the Head of Unit (HoU), the Senior Project Associate will support the coordination and implementation of the activities of the project Right Care: Embedding a Child Rights Perspective in National Psychosocial Support Systems to Migrant Children (Right Care).
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of project activities across work packages.
- Compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data/findings related to project deliverables, highlighting key issues for the consideration of Head of Unit.
- Monitor budget implementation, track expenditures and propose adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain regular liaisons with implementing partners to facilitate effective workflow, successful implementation of the activities and reporting.
- Contribute to the preparation and implementation of communication and visibility activities in line with donor and IOM requirements.
- Draft status and progress reports; identify implementation challengies or delays and bring them to the attention of the Head of Unit and suggest corrective measures.
- Draft correspondence on project issues and prepare reports, briefing notes, presentations as required.
- Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in the delivery of capacity building workshops.
- Respond to complex information requests; establish and maintain project documentation, files, and records in compliance with IOM standards.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOP), concept notes and provide general support for the development of new projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,
Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience
Experience supporting project coordination and implementation.
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national institutions and non-governmental organizations;
Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups;
Experience supporting the coordinating of projects involving child protection and psychosocial support;
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Skills
Strong work ethics, interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural setting;
Strong organizational and coordination skills, ability to work independently, managing several responsibilities at once; ability to work in dynamic circumstances;
Excellent command of office tools, including Microsoft package, shared drives, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant software;
Strong facilitation, writing and presentations skills.
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in Lithuanian and English is required (oral and written)..
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

In accordance with the UN Salary Scale, the monthly base salary for this position (G6/1) is 2114.3 EUR, with an estimated net take‑home pay of approximately 1858 EUR. IOM salaries are exempt from income tax.
