Duties

1. Develop and maintain a well-defined research focus.

- Must have a clearly established and sustained research focus in at least one area of international affairs, for example, U.S.–China relations, U.S.–Japan relations, U.S.–Taiwan relations, and the ability to conduct long-term, systematic tracking and analysis within that domain.

2. Ability to obtain and analyse high-value or exclusive information

- Strong understanding of policy processes and decision-making mechanisms, with the ability to access primary sources or other high-quality channels of information.

3. Strong analytical capability in complex international issues

- Ability to systematically deconstruct and synthesise multi-dimensional international issues; capable of distinguishing between official signals, media narratives, and underlying strategic intent and producing well-reasoned, evidence-based analysis.

4. Produce forward-looking strategic insights

- Ability to assess the likely trajectory and future development of events, identify key variables and trigger points, and move beyond static analysis toward dynamic, forward-looking judgment.

5. Monitor and track evolving global issues

- Ability to continuously monitor the evolution of key issues, proactively identify emerging variables in the international landscape, and develop new research topics with forward-looking relevance and policy significance.

6. Initiate and develop research agendas.

- Able to generate research topics based on emerging global trends and policy relevance. Show initiative in shaping research direction and contributing to broader analytical priorities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale strategic systems within a regional or international context.
  • Strong understanding of information technology infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity measures, and data management practices.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with technical teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
