Mission and objectives
UNICEF is supporting health, nutrition, HIV prevention, education, access to safe drinking water, sanitation and protection for children and families caught in the conflict.
Context

This is why the focus on equity is so vital. It accelerates progress towards realizing the human rights of all children, which is the universal mandate of UNICEF, as outlined by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, while also supporting the equitable development of nations.
Task description
Under the supervision of ICT Officer, the incumbent will provide operational, technical and procedural support for all computer and related equipment as well as end-user services in the implementation and delivery of Information Communications Technology systems and services for the office.
Summary of key functions/accountabilities:
1. Timely and effective deployment of ICT equipment and portable devices for operational use:
• Configure UNICEF laptops for operational use
• Configure printers and computer related peripherals for operational use
• Maintain inventory of all hardware/network/telecom equipment.
2. Provide support for implementation of ICT initiatives
• Provide support and guidance to users.
• Support implementation of ICT initiatives including migration projects, rollout of new installations, upgrades of hardware, software and operating systems.
• Assist in training UNICEF staff on new systems introduced to the organization
3. Build capacity of staff for effective use of ICT equipment and peripherals
• Provide on-the-job training to staff on the effective use of desktop applications
• Provides on-the-job guidance to staff on the effective use of ICT peripherals and communication devices.
4. Assignment of additional duties and responsibilities
• Perform any additional assignments as requested by the supervisor.
