About this position

We are looking for 2 strategic, proactive, and collaborative professionals to join the Social Sector (SCL) as a Resource Planning and Administration Senior Analyst, supporting either the Education (EDU) Division, or the Health, Nutrition, and Population (HNP) Division.

In this role, you will contribute to the effective functioning of the Division by supporting the alignment of operational, administrative, and resource planning functions with strategic priorities. You will act as a key coordination point, facilitating collaboration across teams and ensuring that processes and services enable the timely and efficient delivery of the Division’s work program. The position requires strong analytical and organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex environment requiring collaboration across multiple teams.

The Education Division (EDU) supports countries in strengthening education systems through knowledge generation, innovation, and partnerships aimed at improving learning outcomes.

The Health, Nutrition, and Population Division (HNP) supports countries in advancing health and nutrition outcomes by strengthening health systems, expanding access to quality services, and promoting human capital development.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of the Division’s budget and financial resources, providing strategic analysis, forecasting, and recommendations to support informed decision-making and optimal resource allocation.
  • Oversee financial management processes, including budget execution, projections, reconciliations, and compliance, ensuring alignment with IDB policies and effective coordination with corporate units.
  • Support workforce planning and human resources management, including recruitment, contracting, onboarding, and staffing strategies, ensuring alignment with divisional priorities and institutional guidelines.
  • Provide strategic guidance to Division Chief and staff on administrative, financial, and HR policies and procedures, promoting consistency, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Lead the Front Office team for the Division, ensuring high quality coordination, prioritization, and delivery of key activities, including the planning and execution of high profile events, missions, and senior level engagements.
  • Strengthen internal processes and workflows by identifying inefficiencies and leading the design and implementation of improvements.
  • Foster effective collaboration and communication across internal stakeholders (technical teams, Front Office, HR, Finance, Procurement, and other corporate units) to ensure seamless operations and alignment with institutional priorities.
  • Oversee the preparation of analytical reports and dashboards, synthesizing complex information into clear insights to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Champion a client oriented approach within the Division, ensuring timely, high-quality service delivery, proactive problem solving, and continuous improvement of internal support functions.
  • Support and lead change management efforts, facilitating the implementation of new systems, policies, and processes, and promoting adaptability across teams.
  • Support audit, reporting, and compliance processes, ensuring proper documentation and traceability of financial and operational information.
  • Serve as an engagement champion for the Division, strengthening staff and consultant engagement through initiatives that promote collaboration, alignment, and a strong sense of team cohesion.

What you'll need

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. A Master’s degree is a plus. 
  • Experience:At least one (1) year of relevant professional experience in resource planning and administration roles, with demonstrated experience in budget management and human resources functions.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, both spoken and written, is required. Knowledge of French and Portuguese is a plus.

Type of contract and duration

•   International: International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
