Description

IFC — a member of the World Bank Group (“WBG”) — is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. We work in more than 100 countries, using our capital, expertise, and influence to create markets and opportunities in developing countries. In fiscal year 2025, IFC committed a record $71 billion to private companies and financial institutions in developing countries, leveraging private sector solutions, and mobilizing private capital to create a world free of poverty on a livable planet. For more information, visit www.ifc.org.

As IFC continues to scale its impact and mobilize private capital at scale, in support of the WBG goal of creating jobs that lift people out of poverty, its ability to attract long term institutional investors to invest in IFC-originated emerging market assets has become increasingly central to its operating and financial model. In the context of heightened global uncertainty, constrained public resources, and rising development needs, effective engagement with institutional investors is critical to creating jobs, and sustaining and expanding development impact across emerging markets.

IFC’s originate-to-distribute and capital mobilization initiatives—including securitization, the Managed Co Lending Portfolio Program (MCPP), B Loan syndications, parallel loans, private equity funds and anchor bond investing, thematic bond issuances, blended finance facilities, and other structured mobilization vehicles—have expanded substantially in recent years, reflecting IFC’s strong focus on originating assets that both meet World Bank Group’s development mandate and are consistent with the investment preferences of institutional investors.

To support this strategically critical agenda, IFC is seeking a Director, Strategic Investor Relations to work in collaboration with IFC’s originate-to-distribute (OtD) initiative and to help embed OtD into the operating model of IFC, by leading and strengthening IFC’s global investor engagement approach. The role will serve as the senior most steward of IFC’s critical institutional investor relationships, positioning IFC as a partner of choice for institutional investors while embedding scalable, best in class investor relationship management practices across the organization. The Director will be responsible for deepening long term investor relationships, expanding and diversifying IFC’s investor base, aligning investor mandates with IFC’s mobilization priorities, strengthening IFC’s visibility and credibility in global capital markets, integrating investor intelligence into institutional decision making, and institutionalizing robust systems, governance, and standards for investor relationship management. The Director also will be expected to be a member of the core senior team responsible for ensuring the OtD business model is fully integrated into IFC’s operating model.

The position reports to IFC’s Vice President and IFC CFO, Capital Mobilization.
