Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office in Lithuania and direct supervision of the Head of Unit, the incumbent will support the coordination and  implementation of communication and marketing related activities at IOM Lithuania.

Responsibilities

  1. Support the planning and implementation of Migration Information Center’s (MiCenter) project communication and marketing activities, contributing to strengthening MiCenter’s visibility as a key information resource for migrants in Lithuania, in line with IOM guidelines.
  2. Contribute to the development and maintenance of MICenter's digital presence across social media, the website and other online platforms, including  content creation and publication. 
  3. Draft and prepare communication materials, including written, visual and multimedia content tailored to target audiences and stakeholders.
  4. Monitor and analyse data on the performance of digital campaigns and communications activities; identify shortfalls and propose adjustments to improve outreach effectiveness and audience engagement.
  5. Support liaison with local and regional media; contribute to responses to enquiries, and draft press releases, talking points, and other public communications materials.
  6. Support the organization and delivery of events and workshops; attend external events and liaise with partners and stakeholders.
  7. Monitor budget implementation of assigned activities and propose adjustments as necessary; coordinate with external service providers as required. 
  8. Respond to complex information requests and inquiries related to MiCenter's and IOM work, providing accurate and consistent messaging.
  9. Support coordination of IOM Lithuania office-wide communication activities, contributing to consistency of messaging and alignment across units. 
  10. Provide inputs for the development of project proposals and concept papers; assist with the preparation of project reports and status updates. 
  11. Participate in official meetings, workshops and conferences, and duty travel.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • High school diploma with six years of relevant experience; or, 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Philology or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience 

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications or a related field, with a track record of planning and delivering impactful campaigns.

  • Experience managing digital channels and producing content for diverse audiences.

  • Experience monitoring and analysing communication or digital activities to improve performance.

  • Experience with media liaison and public communications.

  • Experience managing website content and structure, ensuring clear, user-friendly and accessible information.

  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups is a strong advantage.

Skills

  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe suite).

  • Skills in photography and videography, both shooting and editing an advantage.

  • Analytical mindset with ability to use social media and web analytics tools (e.g. Meta Insights, Google Analytics).

  • Ability to plan and develop content for digital channels, adapting messaging to different target audiences.

  • Demonstrated creativity and ability to develop practical and effective solutions.

  • High level of professionalism and ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.

Languages

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).

For this position, fluency in Lithuanian and English (oral and written) and basic knowledge of Russian (reading and understanding) is required.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

In accordance with the UN Salary Scale, the monthly base salary for this position (G6/1) is 2114.5 EUR, with an estimated net take‑home pay of approximately 1850 EUR. IOM salaries are exempt from income tax.
