INTRODUCTION

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB/The Bank) is seeking a Young Professional – Digital Communications in the Department of Communications and Corporate Affairs.  The successful candidate will be based at CDB’s headquarters located in St. Michael, Barbados.

DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATIONS AND CORPORATE AFAIRS

The Department of Communications and Corporate Affairs (DCCA) shapes CDB's internal and external voice and amplifies its impact through effective partnerships, high-impact thought leadership, and institutional storytelling.  The department’s portfolio includes corporate communications, corporate social responsibility (CSR), corporate events, media and other stakeholder relations, protocol and supporting the advocacy work of the Bank. ​

THE ROLE

The position will report to the Director, DCCA.  It is responsible for conceptualising, producing, and managing multimedia content that supports the organisation’s communication strategy. The role spans digital content development, video and audio production, graphic design, and cross‑platform storytelling and event production support. It ensures that high‑quality, brand‑aligned content is created for internal and external audiences across websites, social media, digital campaigns, and multimedia channels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The job will require the Young Professional (YP), Digital Communications to:

Develop Digital Content

  • Assist with planning, creation, writing, and editing content for websites, social media platforms, email newsletters, intranet, and digital campaigns.
  • Assist with management of content calendars to support organisational priorities, programme visibility, and strategic communication goals.

Produce Multimedia Outputs

  • Capture and edit video content for features, interviews, project stories, events, and corporate messaging.
    • Produce audio recordings, voiceovers, and sound‑designed assets as needed.
  • Photograph events, activities, and project sites to support visual storytelling.
  • Edit and package multimedia products into high‑quality deliverables suitable for web, social media, and formal presentations.

Design Graphics & Visuals

  • Create graphics, layouts, infographics, and digital visuals to support reports, campaigns, presentations, and events.
  • Adapt strong visual concepts into multiple formats for different digital platforms.
  • Ensure visuals align with brand guidelines, identity standards, and communication objectives.

Support Digital Platforms, Production & Campaigns 

    • Support the rollout of digital campaigns, including creative development, content scheduling, and performance monitoring.
  • Maintain and update multimedia libraries, digital archives, and branded assets.

Assist with Internal and External Activities

  • Work closely with corporate communications, project teams, designers, and external vendors.
  • Support the planning, execution and documentation of major events, launches, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Contribute creative insights and production expertise to strengthen overall storytelling and brand presence.
  • Perform any activity or manage any other tasks related to the work of the Department of Communications and Corporate Affairs as designated or delegated by the Director Communications and Corporate Affairs.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The YP, Digital Communications is expected to actively seek knowledge needed to complete assignments and share high quality convincing outputs with others, communicating and presenting in a clear, compelling and impactful manner.

Ideal candidates must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and professional training in Communications, Media Production, Digital Media, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • 1 - 2 years’ experience in video production or digital content creation, multimedia production, or corporate communications.
  • Proven portfolio showcasing digital content, videos, graphics, and multimedia work.

FUNCTION-SPECIFIC NCOMPETENCIES

The YP, Digital Communications should demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in multimedia production tools (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, Audition, After Effects).
  • Strong graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or equivalent).
  • Experience in photography and videography: lighting, audio recording, composition.
  • Strong knowledge of digital platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube, websites, email systems).
  • Familiarity with digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Insights).
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for digital and corporate communication.
  • Strong visual storytelling and creative conceptualisation abilities.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environments.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

This role is a term-limited position with the successful candidate being contracted under the CDB YP Programme for a non-renewable two-year period commencing July 1, 2026.  The YP shall receive a salary of USD60,600 per annum.  The benefits package includes life and medical insurances.
