JOB PURPOSE

The Islamic Finance Intern will be given the exposure to work in the real-world development of the Islamic financial industry. Operating under the guidance of the KLCoE’s Subject Matter Experts, the intern will contribute to the design of innovative instruments, products, and services tailored for IsDB Member and non-Member Countries. This role offers a unique opportunity to bridge theoretical research with multilateral development practice in the heart of Malaysia’s Islamic finance hub.

 Core Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Product Research & Technical Analysis

  • Conduct technical analysis of emerging Islamic Financial Products (IFPs) and services.

  • Perform comparative surveys between Islamic and Conventional financial markets to identify gaps and strategic opportunities for innovation.

  • Assess existing IFPs to ensure sustained performance and propose structural improvements based on market needs.

  1. Strategic Policy & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support the development of policy dialogues with Malaysia and other IsDB Member Countries to foster intra-regional financial integration.

  • Liaise with IsDB’s external partners and host-country institutions to coordinate research, project follow-ups, and technical inputs.

  • Assist in the development of training modules and capacity-building programs for internal and external stakeholders.

  1. Knowledge Management & Monitoring

  • Monitor global industry developments and contribute to knowledge products, including policy briefs, market reviews, and research papers.

  • Coordinate and participate in KLCoE-hosted events, webinars, and high-level technical meetings.

  • Follow up on ongoing departmental projects, ensuring alignment with IsDB’s strategic objectives.
