Organizational Context and Scope
IOM Cyprus is setting up an Assisted Voluntary Return (AVR) Hub to provide dedicated, safe and specialized temporary accommodation and pre-departure support for migrants preparing to return voluntarily to their countries of origin, with a focus on individuals and families in vulnerable situations. The Hub supports the completion of pre-departure procedures. The AVR Hub will operate in line with IOM policies and procedures and in close coordination with relevant IOM units, national authorities and partners to safeguard beneficiaries’ rights, address specific needs, and facilitate timely and dignified departures .
Under the direct supervision of the National Project Officer and in the framework of the accommodation services for individuals and families in vulnerable situations, the Project Associate (AVR Hub)will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Assisting and participating in the administration of the AVR Hub by providing guidance to staff and sub-teams.
Propose, improve, and supervise the implementation of high efficiency internal procedures, to support the smooth operation of the AVR Hub.
Supervise and coordinate the different role-based sub-teams and the overall team of the IOM’s personnel in the AVR Hub.
Liaise and coordinate between the AVR Hub’s internal and external stakeholders and involved departments .e.g., Project management, other departments of the Project and the Organization etc.
Oversee and facilitate the maintenance, improvement and implementation of the AVR Hub’s procurement plan.
Oversee and facilitate the catering, cleaning and security services in performing their contractual obligations.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited academic institution in Project/ Program Management, Public Information; Political Science with three years of relevant professional experience, in particular project/program management and voluntary returns programs.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience and Skills
Demonstrated experience in project/program management;
Proven writing and editing skills and a strong command of English with an ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and direct manner; and,
Proven ability to work with intergovernmental organizations, donors, national authorities, foreign missions.
Good level of computer literacy.

Languages

For this position, fluency in English and Greek (written and oral) is required.
