Duties and Responsibilities

BACKGROUND: The International Trade Centre (ITC), is the joint agency of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations (UN). It is fully dedicated to the success of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), connecting markets, improving lives. In Iraq, we build trade-led growth for inclusive prosperity. ITC is a fully resident agency, member of the UNCT with offices in Baghdad (UN compound), Erbil, Mosul and Basra. The Project Coordination Associate will integrate ITC’s project offices in Iraq. S/he will be responsible for supporting the implementation of ITC’s projects in Baghdad, Iraq and neighbouring governorates including Anbar. The Project Coordination Associate will work closely with implementing partners and local stakeholders to ensure effective coordination, communication, and collaboration in the project's activities. The Project Coordination Associate will also support ITC’s project teams in research, needs assessment and the identification and selection of potential beneficiaries. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direct supervision of the JOBS National Project Coordinator, the Project Coordination Associate will be responsible for the following tasks: • Provides assistance in support of planning and implementation project activities in the Baghdad, Anbar and neighbouring governorates • Assist in maintaining effective relationships with implementing partners and local stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector organizations, civil society organizations, and beneficiaries. • Assist in organizing periodic meetings with local authorities to create awareness and enhance support of implementation of project activities in target areas. • Participate in field visits to project sites to monitor progress (M&E), identify challenges, and provide technical support to beneficiaries, in liaison with implementing partners. • Report any challenges or deviation from agreed plans and provide inputs for possible solutions to national management. • Support the planning and implementation of project activities, including surveys, capacity-building workshops, training sessions, and networking events. • Facilitate communication and coordination between the project teams and local stakeholders as well as other international organisations, organizing relevant meetings and ensuring that relevant information is shared with all. • Contribute to the collection and analysis of data on project activities, beneficiaries, and stakeholders to support project reporting and monitoring and evaluation. Administer surveys and interviews, collect photographic evidence, share data in due time through appropriate channels. • Support monitoring the political, security and business context in Baghdad, Anbar and neighbouring governorates and share information regularly with the team through ad-hoc reports. • Participate actively in internal and external coordination meetings. • Assist in maintaining links with other related projects. • Provide logistics support to ITC and partner missions in Baghdad and neighbouring governorates: agenda, meetings, transportation, security and accommodation in coordination with UN system and under guidance of ITC National Administrative and Financial Officer. • Support compliance with security measures and ITC procedures, policies, and regulations. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications/special skills

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Training or certification in agriculture, agri-food, or a related field is desirable. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in programme or project administration, technical cooperation or related area. The minimum years of relevant experience can be reduced to five (5) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in the agriculture or agri-food sector desirable. Experience working with government agencies, private sector organizations, and NGOs and civil society organizations desirable. Experience in stakeholder engagement and communication, including organizing stakeholder meetings and workshops desirable. Experience collecting, analysing, and interpreting data. Fluency in in English and Arabic.

Additional Information

This contract will be administered on behalf of ITC by UNDP. This vacancy is open for locally residing nationals of Iraq. Applicants must be authorized to work in the duty station where the position is located. Eligible applicants selected from outside the duty station are responsible for any expenses in connection with their relocation to the duty station.
