Job Description
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Ukraine and the National Protection Officer, and with the direct supervision of the National Protection Officer (Prevention & Outreach), the incumbent will assist in the implementation of tasks under the Prevention and Outreach portfolio of the Protection Programme as well as assist with other protection activities in Ukraine.
Responsibilities
In close coordination with the National Protection Officer (Prevention & Outreach), assist in the implementation of information activities on safe migration and counter-trafficking through the National Counter-Trafficking and Migrant Advice Hotline, including digital channels (online chat, messengers and website).
Assist with administrative and operational tasks related to the Hotline operations and related digital tools, including processing payments and contracts for hotline operators, compiling Hotline statistics and providing inputs for the preparation of project reports and information products reflecting hotline data and trends.
Assist the National Protection Officer (Prevention & Outreach) in strengthening the Hotline’s capacity by supporting cooperation with other hotlines, embassies, and protection actors, contributing to updates of the existing referral pathways, and facilitating referrals for beneficiaries.
Assist in referral of callers in need of specialized assistance to appropriate internal IOM services, including case management protection services, in accordance with established Hotline referral procedures and guidelines, as well as to external service providers when required.
Assist in the logging and registration of all incoming and outgoing calls and entry of required information into IOM’s Hotline database on theSalesforce) platform and other relevant CRM systems, in line with data protection and ethical standards.
In coordination with the National Protection Officer (Prevention & Outreach), assist with monitoring of consultations, call registration and database management, and assist with procurement and maintenance of necessary technical equipment and software required for Hotline operations.
Assist in collecting and systematizing information on changes in migration policies, entry and border requirements, assistance mechanisms, and employment-related regulations, and support dissemination of updated information to Hotline operators to support consistent counselling.
Assist inimproving Hotline operations by providing inputs on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), supporting onboarding of hotline operators, attending team meetings, updating information of prevention-related activities and events, including trainings, workshops, and public outreach initiatives.
Undertake duty travel based on programme needs.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
High school diploma with five years of professional work experience; or
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, Education, Law and International Relations or related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant work experience.
EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated work experience supporting the hotline, organization of outreach and communication activities.
Experience in the thematic area of protection, including countering human trafficking, exploitation, and gender-based violence, and especially in the prevention/ awareness raising pillar.
Experience in liaison and cooperation with governmental authorities, UN partners and NGOs, as well as other internal and external stakeholders.
Experience working in humanitarian and/or emergency response and post-conflict environments, particularly related to internal displacement and mixed migration.
Previous work experience in IOM or a UN agency is preferable.
SKILLS
Ability to learn quickly new thematic areas and workstreams related to the protection work of IOM in a variety of contexts.
Good communication and writing skills, including basic presentation skills.
Proficiency in computer skills, especially with graphic design software and social media tools.
Languages
For this position, fluency in English and Ukrainian is required.
