1. About the Role
This role sits within the Grants Management Department (GMD) at Gavi. GMD translates Gavi’s policy and strategy priorities into practical grants design, partnership arrangements, operational processes, and tools that support effective and accountable delivery of Gavi funding.
Within GMD, the role is part of the Grants Design and Partnerships (GDP) team, which focuses on the upstream design of grant structures, funding approaches, partnership models, and application processes that define how Gavi funding is accessed and used.
Within GMD, the role works closely with the Grants Management team and Senior Specialists responsible for Grants Management Optimisation and Grants Effectiveness and collaborates with teams across the Secretariat including Strategy and Policy teams and the Country Delivery Department. The role may also engage, where relevant, with Alliance partners and implementing organisations.
The core mission of the Programme Manager, Grants Design and Analytics is to support the design, coordination, and continuous improvement of Gavi’s grants design initiatives. The role brings together data analysis, coordination of cross-cutting initiatives, and clear communication of insights to help ensure that grants design work across GDP is informed by evidence, clearly communicated, and effectively aligned with Gavi systems and implementation realities.
 

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and support the development and rollout of grants design initiatives across GDP, including new funding approaches, partnership arrangements, and cross-cutting design work under Gavi 6.0.
  • Coordinate work across GDP objectives and initiatives, helping track deliverables, align inputs across teams, and support the implementation of priority projects.
  • Conduct data analysis and generate actionable insights from data analysis across GDP workstreams, helping generate insights that inform grants design decisions and track progress of key initiatives.
  • Strengthen and support the integration between design, systems, and implementationof the Grants Management System (GMS) by organising and analysing data related to grant design and helping strengthen links between design, systems, and implementation.
  • Prepare and deliver high-impact  analytical briefs, presentations, and visual materials that synthesise complex information and support internal decision-making, management reviews, and external communication.
  • Facilitate cross-functional forums and working sessions, including preparing materials, capturing outcomes, and supporting follow-up actions.
  • Support the coordination and enable effective end-to-end alignment across strategy, grants design, grants management and country delivery teams,, helping ensure smooth handovers from strategic priorities to grant design and from design to implementation.

3. Your Experience and Skills 

Professional Experience

  • Typically, 5–7 years of professional experience in global health, international development, programme coordination, analytics, or strategy support roles.
  • Experience driving or coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives, with demonstrated ability to align diverse inputs into coherent outputs.
  • Experience applying data analysis to inform programme or funding decisions, ideally linked to grant or programme management.
  • Experience developing high-quality briefings and presentationsfor internal and external audiences.
  • Experience in global health, development organisations, or the non-profit sector is preferred.
  • Experience working in operational or complex environments, including low-resource or fragile contexts, is an advantage.
Education and Qualifications
  • University degree in public health, international development, economics, business administration, or a related field is essential.
  • Additional qualifications or training in programme management, data analytics and statistics, development finance, or grants management is an asset.

  • Advanced analytical capability: Ability to interpret and structure programme or grant data and translate it into clear, actionable insights that inform decisions. 
  • Insight communication and influence: Proven ability to synthesise complex information into compelling narratives and visual materials that engage and influence diverse stakeholders.Advanced Cross Functional Project Coordination and Organisational skills: Strong ability to structure, prioritise, and track multiple initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs.Systems and data utilisation: Ability to work effectively with digital tools and systems, including data platforms, dashboards, or grant management systems.
  • Stakeholder engagement and facilitation: Ability to lead structured discussions, challenge constructively, and build alignment across functions and levels.
Good to have
  • Data visualisation tools experience (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau or similar).
  • Proven process improvement, organisational change, or systems implementation exposure.
  • Experience working with grants management or development funding mechanisms.
Languages Needed
  • Essential: Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of French.
