Overview of position

The Technology Director will play a pivotal role in shaping CTG’s technology vision and leading its next stage of innovation, modernization, and integration, while aligning with the broader strategic direction of the Chelsea Group. Reporting directly to the CEO of CTG, with a dotted line to the CFO of Chelsea Group, the Technology Director will be responsible for assessing CTG’s current technology landscape and defining a coherent, forward looking technology strategy. This strategy will enable growth, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver sustainable competitive advantage, while aligning with the broader strategic direction of the Chelsea Group. It is expected that CTG’s technology infrastructure will form the backbone of the Chelsea Group’s digital ecosystem, with all other group companies (with one exception) operating on this shared platform.

This role blends strategy, technical excellence, and strong people leadership — ideal for a seasoned technology executive who can transform diverse technology ecosystems into a unified enabler of business performance.

Growth Opportunity: This role is initially focused on CTG, reflecting the importance of technology in enabling CTG’s next phase of growth, operational excellence, and innovation. Over time, and in line with business priorities and individual impact, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to take on a broader Chelsea Group technology leadership remit, contributing to Group-wide technology strategy, integration, and value creation.

Role objectives

 1. Define and Execute CTG’s Technology Vision, in alignment with Chelsea Group Vision

  • Develop and deliver a clear, actionable technology strategy and 3-year roadmap aligned with CTG’s business priorities, while ensuring alignment with the broader Chelsea Group vision.

  • Partner closely with CTG senior leadership to ensure technology investments directly enable commercial growth, operational efficiency, and client delivery in complex environments.

  • Position technology as a strategic value driver within CTG, moving beyond a support function to a core enabler of performance and differentiation.

2. Assess and optimise the CTG’s Technology Ecosystem

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of CTG’s current systems, infrastructure, and digital tools.

  • Review and evaluate software platforms purchased and used across other Chelsea Group companies to inform technology standardisation decisions and facilitate a smoother transition of those businesses onto the CTG technology structure.

  • Identify opportunities for simplification, integration, and modernisation to improve scalability, resilience, and data integrity.

  • Drive pragmatic optimisation initiatives that reflect CTG’s operational realities, including work in fragile and high-risk environments.

3. Define the Future Operating Model for Technology (from CTG to the Chelsea Group)

  • Establish the most effective technology operating model for CTG (centralised, decentralised, or hybrid), with a view to future scalability at Group level.

  • Define clear SLAs, governance frameworks, and accountability across all technology services.

  • Lay the foundations for a future Group-wide technology model, ensuring interoperability and alignment from the outset.

4. Drive Modernization and Innovation

  • Lead the modernization of core platforms (ERP, CRM, HCM, and operational systems) within CTG, prioritising efficiency, integration, and user experience.

  • Introduce scalable, secure, and field-adapted solutions that enhance agility in complex and remote environments.

  • Leverage emerging technologies — including automation, AI, and advanced analytics — to improve decision-making, service delivery, and cost efficiency.

5. Strengthen Cyber security and Compliance

  • Work with the Chelsea Group Head of IT to establish and embed a robust cybersecurity framework across CTG, covering policies, tools, training, and incident response and awareness

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and client expectations across multiple jurisdictions, including government and high-risk operating environments.

  • Strengthen data privacy and protection practices across CTG, including data handling, access controls, retention, lifecycle management, and compliance with relevant privacy regulations such as GDPR where applicable.

6. Vendor Management & Cost Control

  • Manage strategic technology vendors and implementation partners, relationship and ensuring performance against agreed SLAs, KPIs and delivery expectations.

  • Optimise technology costs across applications, tools, license and infrastructure and third party services, balancing efficiency with business needs and scalability

  • Establish governance over all technology solutions across CTG to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, overall technology strategy, risk and cost control.

  • Introduce clear governance and approval mechanisms for the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new tools, digital platforms, and AI solutions, ensuring visibility, coordination, and alignment with the central Technology function.

7. Lead, Inspire, Build and Scale (from CTG to the Chelsea Group)

  • Build and lead a high-performing technology team within CTG, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to CTG’s executive leadership, combining strategic vision with hands-on delivery.

  • Over time (2–3 years), expand leadership scope to the Chelsea Group, building a connected technology community across all companies and driving Group-wide alignment and synergies.
