About the job
The Economic Recovery Officer is responsible for co-planning, implementation, and day-to-day technical oversight of Economic Recovery activities under the supervision of the Economic Recovery Team Leader. The role supports the delivery of livelihoods, capacity building, emergency preparedness activities, and income-generating interventions, ensuring that activities are implemented efficiently, in line with DRC standards and program objectives.
The Officer contributes to program quality through field supervision, stakeholder engagement, and support to assessments and reporting.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Programming
- Uphold professional standards related to Economic Recovery programming.
- Implement Economic Recovery program activities, including livelihoods, capacity building, emergency preparedness, and income-generating initiatives, under the guidance of the Team Leader and/or Program Manager.
- Conduct and support field assessments (FGDs, KIIs, surveys), including labor market and capacity assessments.
- Monitor program activities and provide analysis and feedback to support adaptive programming.
- Ensure proper documentation of activities in line with DRC procedures, SOPs, and donor requirements.
- Co-facilitate trainings, workshops, and capacity-building sessions.
- Coordinate the organization of program events (e.g., job fairs), including stakeholder engagement, planning, logistics, and reporting.
- Contribute to beneficiary selection processes and ensure transparency and compliance with criteria.
- Contribute to delivery of grants, including business plan review, mentoring, and follow-up.
- Liaise with the MEAL to ensure accountability and feedback integration.
- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure integrated program delivery.
- coordinate with support departments for procurement and implementation.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and promote DRC’s standards and principles in all activities.
- Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards.
Reporting
- Contribute to the production of quality and timely reports on program activities;
- Provide weekly/monthly reports to the Economic recovery Team Leader, including accurate data on all activities, challenges encountered, in the agreed format;
- Identify case studies and success stories of beneficiaries from the Economic recovery Project Activities as required;
Representation
- Develop and strengthen relationships with local partners and communities in order to maintain trust in DRC’s professional standard and quality of work among all stakeholders;
- Maintain respectful and constructive relations with partner organizations, local authorities and humanitarian actors;
- Attend field level meetings when required and providing detailed reports to the Line Manager;
Operations
- Ensure the preparation of required documentation for the procurement of goods and services in compliance with DRC requirements and delivered in a timely manner;
Other
- Conduct any other duties as may be assigned by the Line Manager;
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to At least 2 years professional experience in Economic recovery programming including livelihoods, capacity building, and income-generating activities. Moreover, we also expect the following:
- Experience in the field of social work, humanitarian intervention, community development, or any other relevant field is desirable;
- Previous experience working with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and local communities is desirable;
- Good level of computer literacy;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good communication channels with relevant stakeholders;
