The Communications and Knowledge Sharing Unit is part of the Executive Director’s Office (EDO) and supports the organization’s global communications, branding, and knowledge-sharing efforts. The Unit works closely with headquarters and country teams to elevate the visibility of GGGI’s impact, strengthen engagement with stakeholders, and ensure coherent storytelling around green growth initiatives worldwide.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Officer for Global Events & Stakeholder Engagement supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of GGGI’s global events and knowledge-sharing initiatives. The role ensures effective planning, program management, organization, coordination across internal teams, and alignment with GGGI’s communication and visibility objectives. They will secure opportunities at global events for GGGI leadership and other senior staff.

 

PURPOSE

The position exists to coordinate the planning and execution of global events that strengthen GGGI’s visibility, partnerships, and knowledge-sharing efforts. The role manages the event management platform and the GGGI events calendar to ensure the overall event programme is strategic and all staff have visibility across the organization. They will also coordinate concept development and delivery for key events organized by GGGI including the Global Green Growth Week and GGGI participation in global events like the UN COPs.

 

ENGAGEMENT

They will engage with internal teams across HQ and country offices to identify opportunities for global events and visibility as well as external stakeholder to secure opportunities for GGGI leadership at major events. They will:

  • Collaborate with program teams to shape event concepts and ensure alignment with communication objectives.
  • Coordinate with external service providers and partners to support event planning and delivery.
  • Support engagement with stakeholders participating in global conferences, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

 

DELIVERY

They will lead on the delivery and coordinate the planning and implementation of global events, conferences, and workshops.

  • Manage the organization’s event management platform and maintain event-related documentation.
  • Support the development of concept notes and proposals for strategic event participation.
  • Coordinate logistics including venue arrangements, agendas, participant management, and communications.
  • Support the production of event materials and communication products associated with events.
  • Monitor and report on event outcomes and visibility opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, event management, international relations, or related field.
  • At least 6-8 years of experience managing a global event programme and securing opportunities for leadership on global events.
  • Previous experience in a global organization – in a leading coordinating role between headquarters (or main offices/secretariat) and country/regional offices or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Another language is an advantage.

 

FUNCTIONAL
  • Strong programme management and organizational and logistical coordination skills.
  • Experience leading on the delivery of conferences, workshops, or global events.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Proficient with digital event management tools is a requirement.
  • Familiarity with a project management tool is desirable, as well as digital asset management and CMS.

WORKING CONDITIONS 

The Global Events & Stakeholder Engagement Officer position is a national position based at HQ. Determination of base salary is subject to the candidate's experience, academic background and internal equity. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
