The Scope

This role leads business analysis, UX and product discovery for FSC Trace as it evolves into a core digital platform supporting FSC Chain of Custody compliance, supply chain traceability, and system integrity. The role sits at the intersection of standards, data, technology, and business (including external stakeholders), working alongside the broader FSC Trace team from System Integrity Unit and Technology & Information Unit to support the translation of complex CoC requirements and integrity objectives into intuitive, auditable, and scalable user journeys across FSC Trace and related data, analytics and technology products, and their associated user interface (UI) constructs.

What success looks like
  • Users can understand and demonstrate CoC compliance through FSC Trace.
  • UX reduces integrity risk and audit friction.
  • FSC has a coherent, reusable UX foundation for future digital assurance tools.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead UX and product discovery across FSC Trace and adjacent platforms working with internal and external business and technology stakeholders.
  • Analyze business needs and translate FSC Chain of Custody standards into intuitive, auditable digital workflows.
  • Develop and maintain user personas, journey maps, and UI/UX artefacts.
  • Partner with Product, Technology, Data, and Business teams across FSC units.
  • Design UX patterns that support transparency, auditability, and trust.
  • Anticipate and accommodate future revisions of FSC standards.
  • Contribute towards reusable UX standards and governance across FSC’s digital portfolio.
  • Engage users and stakeholders to gather structured feedback and insights.

Your profile

  • 3-5 years in UX, product design, product discovery roles or related areas.
  • Strong experience in business analysis and stakeholder facilitation.
  • Proven track record designing complex, data driven or compliance oriented platforms.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Comfort working with data services, data models, and technical constraints.
Desirable
  • Experience with supply chains, traceability, or assurance systems.
  • Experience in non profit, standards, or multi stakeholder environments.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery in enterprise contexts.
  • A background in sustainability and related standards is a plus.

The Fine Print

Location: Bonn, Germany.
Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance). 
Starting Date: As soon as possible.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
