UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees. The incumbent receives technical supervision from the Field Oral Health Services Officer and administrative supervision from the Head Health Centre (A) or (B) to which he/she is assigned. Responsibilities
The incumbent: 1- Performs periodic oral examination of school children and provides preventive management as required, including pit fissure sealant application; conducts oral health screening for preschool, school, pre-conception care, pregnant women and non-communicable disease (NCD) patients; 2- Is responsible for providing oral and dental care services to registered refugees in the location to which s/he is assigned including minor dental surgeries and dental x-rays; 3- Maintains infection control procedures in the dental clinic; 4- Shares in the evaluation of the oral health programme in the location to which assigned, including collection of data through surveys and other means; 5- Provides training and technical support to Maternal and Child Health (MCH) staff on the implementation of oral health preventive programme for mothers, infants and children; 6- Ensures that all requirements for dental care, such as supplies, instruments and equipment are properly maintained; 7- Promotes oral hygiene and participates in raising awareness and dissemination of proper information related to oral health; 8- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
