Our organisation
Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) provides a Joint headquarters to plan, prepare and conduct operations to support NATO’s core tasks, at the Joint Operational level, as directed by SACEUR.
The Support Directorate (SPT) plans, directs, monitors, assesses and coordinates Sustainment. It provides advice on policy matters and in the execution of support activities. It identifies, implements and sustains resource requirements in co-ordination with military and non-military actors.
The J4 Division determines the operational sustainment requirements across the Areas of Interest, as well as for all logistic activities supporting the operations.
The Logistic Plans Branch (LPB) and implements sustainment plans as well as contributes to the development of relevant policies and concepts.
The Current Plans Section develops plans, stockpile planning, and supply class planning in support of operations and exercises.
The incumbent is primarily a land logistics planner. Plans all land logistic aspects for joint operations and coordinates the planning with internal and external counterparts. The incumbent will participate in the development of logistics doctrine, concepts, guidance and staff documents.

The main duties of Staff Officer (Land Logistics Plans) are to:
•    Support development of plans, concepts, doctrine, guidance, stockpile planning, and supply class management in support of    operations/ exercises.
•    Participate in the overall JF HQ planning activities, organizing, and directing of programmes, services, and support activities    carried out through all logistics functions.
•    Assess logistic capabilities and constraints.
•    Support planning of the exercises and evaluate impacts on planned operations/ exercises.
•    Coordinate operational HNS agreements and arrangements in coordination with the NATO and non-NATO organizations.
•    Support the establishment of logistic reporting requirements for subordinate forces and prepare and forward logistic reports to  higher authority as required.
•    Perform tasks as foreseen in JFCBS J4 internal instructions during exercises and operations.

The incumbent may be required to undertake deployments in support of military operations and exercises, and/or TDY assignments, both within and without NATO boundaries. Such operational deployment may exceed 30 days duration up to 183 days in any period of 547 days, and may be on short notice. For NATO International Civilian Staff, acceptance of an employment contract linked to this post constitutes agreement to deploy in excess of 30 days if required.

Required Qualifications are:
   English – good – NATO Standard Language Proficiency 3333
      (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) in accordance with NATO standard agreement (STANAG) 6001.
      NOTE: The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English.
  University Degree or equivalent in logistics, transportation or related discipline.
     (equivalent is Higher Secondary Education AND completed advanced vocational training in relevant field leading to a professional certification or      accreditation).
  Minimum of 4 years’ professional experience in Land Logistics. 
  Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in: 
o    logistics management;
o    participating in overall logistic planning; 
o    organizing and supporting logistical programs.
  Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistic planning in an operational environment.

Desirable Qualifications are:
    Experience in Operational Planning.
    Experience in Multinational Logistics solutions for Joint Operations. 
    Knowledge of the principles and provisions of NATO Logistics.
    Completion of relevant courses / trainings

The successfully selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and is required to pass a medical examination before an employment contract offer is released. The medical examination will take place with our medical consultant. It is required to determine if the recommended candidate is fit to perform the duties and is deployable to NATO's areas of operation.
