Student Assistant Measuring Success*
in Bonn
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany. You will work 20 hours/week, to enable you to continue your qualification within the framework of your current studies. Mobile work within Germany is possible in agreement with your team. 100% mobile work is not possible. The position is remunerated with 15 Euro per hour.
As Student Assistant you will be an integral part of Welthungerhilfe's Global MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) Team. In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting Welthungerhilfe’s efforts to grow as an impact-driven and accountable learning organization. You will help measure our performance, showcase our achievements through insightful reporting and communication, and support initiatives that drive continuous learning and improvement across the organization. You will also contribute to the further communication of Welthungerhilfe’s new Impact Report 2.0 (Impact Report Welthungerhilfe - Welthungerhilfe), giving you direct exposure to how evidence and impact measurement shape organizational learning and strategic decision-making.
Your responsibilities
- Support the ongoing revision and further development of Welthungerhilfe’s global project and program performance measurement system, including the refinement of indicators, the integration of indicators into an online indicator compendium, and the updating of guidelines for qualitative approaches and methodologies.
- Support the automation and optimization of data collection, processing, and reporting workflows related to Welthungerhilfe’s global project and program monitoring systems, including the use of tools such as Excel Power Query, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative performance and reach data from projects and programs and transform the results into compelling texts and visualizations.
- Develop presentations, guidance documents, and other knowledge and learning products in English and French to support capacity-building efforts for colleagues in country offices.
Your profile

You are currently enrolled in a university (ideally for a minimum of 12 months).

Strong skills in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

Experience with data analysis software such as R, Stata, SPSS, or similar tools is considered a strong asset.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools (e.g. Power Query, Power Automate, and Power BI) is highly desirable.

Strong writing and communication skills.

Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in French is a significant advantage.
